I'd kind of like that after a situation where the speaker is forced to turn against his brother as Marshall becomes almost insane after finding out his brother loves a human, but then in the future he meets his brother's children and understands that his hatred was misplaced through seeing his brother happy with a family. That idea would be nice afterwards, where because Marshall becomes more understanding, it kind of opens up his own heart to love. His brother's happiness with the listener and his family helps Marshall to shed his hatred.
I kind of hope Marshall's actions of what he did to the listener is foreshadowing to his hatred of humans is growing out of control, and when he finds out his brother is in love with the listener, Marshall goes off the deep end, forcing his brother to act against him. Not to kill Marshall, but to see him out of the way where he can't hurt anybody and, maybe in the future, we get to see Marshall change and understand that not all humans are bad. For instance, after a while, Marshall gets to meet his neice(s)/nephew(s) and seeing his brother happy with the listener and raising a happy family helps him to understand that his hatred was misplaced all along, that the only people he had to feel hatred for were the ones who tried to harm the ones he loves. I absolutely adore this character, and that's really something since I am an Ophidiphobe which means I have the irrational fear of snakes. He's so sweet and loving, not to mention it was so freaking cute to hear him say that he thinks he loves the listener when his kind don't really feel emotions like humans do. Of course, I kind of wish there was a more extravagant back story to that like a long time ago a war between the Naga and humans occured with both finding that a Naga and human loved each other and the Naga killed their own for their abominable love, thus the Gods struck all emotion from the Naga until one day a Naga and human would love each other despite the curse that was laid upon the Naga, breaking it. I just can't wait to see where this goes as I love this character so much and I can't wait for his and the listener's happy ending. As soon as he said he thought he loved the listener, my reaction would have been to gently touch his cheek and tell him, "I cannot express my feelings in words, but I can show you." They just have such a wonderful relationship clear from the beginning where the listener was so willing to help him, even sleeping with him so that he would stay warm. There is a trust and bond between them that is almost divine tied in a way, that they were always meant to meet and begin a new age for both their peoples.

Don’t hit See More if you don’t wanna get spoiled “If he gives you a warning, and it stops, that’s when you should worry” as someone who loves snakes and recently learned that if a rattler’s tail rattle stops going that means you’re done fucking around and now you’re about to find out that that tail rattle was only a bluff until it’s NOT!!!! Im invested in this with all the interesting snake facts relating to rattlesnakes and how interesting they are. I love this series and I think Marshall definitely deserves some love. Maybe give him a listener that’s a snake researcher who understands snake behavior and can read when he’s not in the mood to interact but also doesn’t give into his unreasonable tantrums and can help him through his trauma.
