Hello, everyone -- thought I'd clear something up for you. The reason the lip-synching on this isn't great is that this recording is from our first album and we weren't told in advance we were going to be doing this. Joan and her band were the most famous group to have their tour bus break down in the bump in a road town that I grew up in. It was early to mid 80's. One of my friends was her biggest fan. He played her songs all the time. I saw this video and it reminded me of him. We lost him a couple of years back, but Joan Jett and the Blackhearts was always his favorite band. Funny how a song can bring back all of those memories. Here's to you Joan Jett and the Blackhearts!!
I was playing in bands and on the scene back then, and knew of these gals. But never crossed paths. Ive always wondered about there equipment - did they choose it themselves, and their setup for live gigs. I wish they would talk about their gear they used back then .....
Nice info , I looked it up , she ( real name Jackie Fuchs ) appeared on 4 episodes of Jeopardy and won over 87k , and she also appeared on The Dating Game , Who Wants To Be a Millionaire , and The Chase ( Game Show Network )
She quit the band because the band manager Kim Fowley drugged and raped her in a room full of people including Joan Jett who watched while it happened.

It's the 45th anniversary of The Runaways debut album, and Cherry Bomb!! They were really ground-breaking back then, and real pioneers for female musicians! For female artists like myself it was thrilling and exciting to see women with guitars playing rock!
A very young Joan Jett on the guitar! These girls were/are the same age as me and back in the mid 70’s I was figuring out how I could ever get one of them to notice me! Ahhh, the fantasies of a teenage boy
That lead singer is so light years ahead of her time that no one still has the guts to dress like that and perform on stage they wear costume lingerie she's actually wearing the real stuff and she's only 16 unbelievable
It's a deceptive cut because it starts on Lita and then switches to a shot where you can only see the guitar. After a second I thought "what terrible miming for a solo, that just looks like a chord" and then it panned out to show Joan. At least it was a guitar. I've seen cameras cut to basses during solos so this was at least the right instrument.

Lita’s hair flip, alone, inspired countless “Rock Gods”.
I'm the same age as the ladies in the band, and I live in New Orleans. My friends and I used to drive out into the swamp late at night and listen to them on KAAY-AM out of Little Rock, Arkansas. They inspired me to run away and I DID! Age 16, my own apartment, job, motorcycle, everything. Still going strong all these years later! Joan Jett played an amphitheater on Roanoke Island, and it was so loud, you could hear them all over town!

I saw Lita Ford tonight in my small city, she attracted the biggest crowd the city has ever seen. She was freaking BADASS and performed PERFECTLY and was definitely the most badass woman I’ve ever seen perform live. She even waved and smiled to my mom and I. ROCK ON 🤘
I was 15 when The Runaways hit the music scene. They were complete badasses.
The band was immense sounding. They played through the big Marshall amps of the time and they had a road crew even for playing LA clubs. No band ever sounded like them before and certainly after.

Still a bomb of a song after all these years. Ah the memories of high school. The Runaways & Suzi Q rocked my world as a teenage boy.
I wish boys still liked that kinda of girl, nowdays guys look at me like im crazy for dressing and acting like im in the runaways

Suzi Q=Leather Tuscadaro from Happy Days and boy was she a heart breaker. Then Lita And Joan in the 80's.
I was playing in bands and on the scene back then, and knew of these gals. But never crossed paths. Ive always wondered about there equipment - did they choose it themselves, and their setup for live gigs. I wish they would talk about their gear they used back then .....

Lita must have pissed someone off the day they shot this video, because she's barely in the video at all. Either the camera guy was obsessed with Joan & Cherie, or he hit on Lita, got shot down & was being petty.
Many cameramen in the 70s seemed to do this. They'll focus on a bassist, or rhythm guitarist when the lead guitarist starts soloing. Pretty annoying. It happens in a lot of 60s/70s footage.

It's a deceptive cut because it starts on Lita and then switches to a shot where you can only see the guitar.
