Excellent video. Another method begins with the lyrics. Read the lyrics using your voice multiple times. Try different phrasing styles. Be aware of the differences between sections in the lyrics. Do that until you feel it comes natural. Chances are that sooner or later a natural melody comes in to your mind. No chords, no keys and no notes at the beginning, that could make your song unpredictable. Later, you have multiple options to dress your song with harmonies and fancy arrangements.
This video and channel deserve more than actually has !! Thanks for sharing this, like your authenticity, humility and takes alot of courage to share Raw songwriting process like this !! Really interesting process for breaking habits and blocks !! Its a like and subscribe for me !!
