What an excellent demo - I really appreciate the raw experimentation to show what it’s really like to use these techniques rather than refining everything. Great ideas. Thanks 😊🙏👍
really enjoyed this tutorial :) - loved melody on barefoot in the dark in A starting on 2nd tone - as you said , challenging but it produced a really interesting melody
How the the hell does this video and your channel not have at least a hundred thousand subs/views?! Man this very raw songwriting tips video is a gem!!! Good job explaining these songwriting techniques!!!
Thank you, I really appreciate you saying that! Means a lot, And glad you got something out of the video! It is very raw way to show songwriting haha. Getting started on a melody is one of the hardest parts though,
Never tried the first one before , actually really good, felt a lot easier than my usual methods and gets out of the habit of using the same old chord progressions. thanks!
Thanks John! The channel has been around for a while but I’ve only gotten into a regular routine this year. So glad to hear they are helping you out man! Made my day to read this 🙏 If there is anything specific you think would be helpful for me to chat about. Let me know!
This video and channel deserve more than actually has !! Thanks for sharing this, like your authenticity, humility and takes alot of courage to share Raw songwriting process like this !! Really interesting process for breaking habits and blocks !! Its a like and subscribe for me !!
@@frommusiciantoartist yeah , im kinda new to recording/production with a daw. I'm getting better with the software and I can lay down some ideas and loops but just can't finish a song !! Almost there 🤟🎸🎹
Excellent video. Another method begins with the lyrics. Read the lyrics using your voice multiple times. Try different phrasing styles. Be aware of the differences between sections in the lyrics. Do that until you feel it comes natural. Chances are that sooner or later a natural melody comes in to your mind. No chords, no keys and no notes at the beginning, that could make your song unpredictable. Later, you have multiple options to dress your song with harmonies and fancy arrangements.
Oh cool! Thanks so much man, put myself out there a bit with that video. But I think that’s the truth of songwriting isn’t it. It can be a bit of a grind. Hope you get some killer songs out of these techniques 😁
Hahaha, not once did I sing the correct lyrics!! 😂
