you'd have had to be born on like 1993 or earlier in order to live the full evolution of the game and being able to remember it Xd
I wanna play the crap out of that, what a BEAUTIFUL way to maintain that pixel art in a 3D environment.
Your Sky Sanctuary reminds me more of Marble Garden. You need to open it up with more porticos and openings. Sky Sanctuary was very open to the sky and felt "breathy" and open to the air. The layout is fine, just need to have the walls opened up, that and/or made of "glass" or transparent material so that it also gives the illusion of being open, when you absolutely need a physical barrier. I should be able to see sky in every frame from some angle. If you manage to give the player the sense of they are going to fall even in a "solid" room, then you've gotten it.

That intro to Angel Island Zone is so cool, surprised they've never done something like that in the 3D games

I doubt it. The Doom engine barely ran on the 32x.

No, I doubt it could
@@Sonicfans1 I have looked into it. You would need to port SDL to MegaDrive using SGDK, but I have no idea how you target 32X explicitly.

Fire Shield can build onto your momentum if you keep jumping and using it (especially noticeable with momentum mods). Thok cannot
