Edit: Don't get me wrong. It is tragic. But I think this statement is rather inappropriate.
It wasn't a stampede. Totally correct word to use as situation.
As of now it looks like a case of for some reason, the police department blocking and exit, a major exit point without proper crowds control higher up which caused a crush at the bottom. Heaven forbid you would report with accuracy.
That is a horrible way to go. Prayers for the families!
@psycho4ag Y- If "prayers" had any worth at all, these sheep-like hordes would never have need for such bizarre behavior and aggregation.

Thank you for your compassionate words - you are included in thus earth!
As we go further into the New Dark Age, I would expect to see more of such occurrences.
They brought children!
Another result of overpopulation. We are exceeding the earth’s carrying capacity in every way.
I also had the same thought earlier.
I mean, the "Dark" Ages were so-called "dark" because of the lack of recorded information as compared to previous ages and we're literally seeing these occurrences due to an over-abundance of information, but ok.

Poor crowd management & control, let alone the number of people "allowed".
a tragedy which is avoidable.. terrible.. RIP 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The entrance and exit areas need to be larger, and there should have been a turnstile that slowed down the flow into the narrow entrance and exit area..
IF you know tge area you know that this town is very small!
it was on purpose.. the police blocked the exit and didnt let people out even when people start faint and die.. it wasnt an accident and there video to prove it all.

Same thing happened in Shanghai at the Bund on New Year’s Eve in 2014. I actually arrived there before it happened but went into a nearby bar with some Italian friends. On my way out I saw a lot of police were on the scene to guide the crowds leaving in orderly manner. At the time I had no clue what happened. And I watched as medical personnel were giving emergency aid to people on the ground with a circle of police to hold the perimeter around them. Later I learned that 36 people died that night...
Ever since that incident, every new year eve celebration had tons of police presence there for crowd control. I’d avoid such crowded places from now on.
If the victims had been Palestinians, Israelis would complain that the number wasn’t higher. Only forty-five, they’d ask.
All this could have been avoided with proper crowd control, social distancing, and prayers in place at home. Sad comment on herd behavior.
is an odd celebration, one you would think they would see was not a good idea...
Please don't tell me we're going to get a pandemic in Israel like in India after there religious event... 🙁 very sad my thoughts and prayers are with you all ... 🇬🇧❤️

Who yelled over the loud speaker they had to evacuate the area and caused panic in the people who stampeded?
Metal structure fell, they tried to clear the area but exits were blocked by police.
That’s like lighting a fire in a movie theater then locking the doors and telling everyone to run.
Don’t blame Palestinians for it now
Because the police did not dare to stop religious zealots although the allowed number was less lower. At least they are going to heaven immediately. Sarcasm off.
i dont know how you did that put but please turn sarcasm back on i need it to navigate the perils of modern life
Why would Netanyahu allow so many to gather in such a small space, especially when there were prior concerns previously noted in a Holiday gathering that takes place Each Year? Once again someone drops the ball and many must pay with their lives. Sending infinite light, love, healing and compassion for all the families that have been affected by this tragedy 💞 💔 💞
These guys have their own rules
Netanyahu is a terrible leader, but this really isn't his fault. The ultra-orthodox community has been given a degree of autonomy in Israel and they all but refuse to be governed, learn from the modern world or engage in safety measures of any kind if it woudl disturb even slightly what they perceive to be their traditions.
Such is the destructive nature of religious sects

No - there's been a press release. God was busy killing babies in Africa and hadn't noticed this crowd crush. He promises to review his procedures.
This reminds me of a similar event in a tunnel if my memory is correct , in Mecca. Religious people should think about safety a little more.
The only difference from the last few years, this ramp was open, and this year they closed the ramp as soon people started to came down....😰😰

They locked down hard for some time, vaccinated everyone and are now practically Covid-free.

Wow, that's crazy. A nightmare.
He didn’t mention that the police closed off a certain area so the crowds we’re forced into a cramped area were their was a tragedy. They were told before hand by the organizers they shouldn’t close it off but they didn’t listen
Harry Gruber - I would think that the organizers would say just about anything to deflect blame for this disaster from themselves. If the police caused the event to become unsafe then the organizers could have cancelled it.
it's the men section. they always go that way. a person can't close it. they can stop them for entering it, and clear the people in the bridge, before allowing more to enter.
Police did the same thing at love parade
This is why they have capacity limits in buildings.
Religious lunacy at its finest.
Please have some respect for the dead. Now is not the time for a comment like that.
