Honestly Mimi's performance was so underrated; like seriously she produced real tears (and lots of them!) which is more than Jane did!
It's almost as if she knew she was going to die, so she wrote herself a speech. 10/10 writing.

@@animemaster4947 It doesn't matter. People can spell things differently. Some people can have difficulties to spell things and it's not our fault to spell differently. Some of us people may have learning disability or might have dyslexia. And besides, some people may not good at spell properly. So let's just be nice okay? 😉

As soon as Cindy read that letter and the theme returned, I teared up.
It broke my heart when all that time Ian thought and believed that his own daughter hated him, when in the end, he realised that she would always love him no matter what and she wanted to make things right with him. Poor Ian, this is going to be an episode we'll never forget.
Good catch. After she died, he kept going on about how much she hated him, but in the end it turns out she loved him.

This must be the most emotional scene ever in Eastenders. Mimi (Cindy) carried it off perfectly and to do it live was an incredible feat. It would have been interesting to see how Lucy would have been after the change she wrote about but we'll never know.
Mimi is an amazing young actress! People seemed to have forgotten about her when congratulating the cast! Yes adam and laurie were amazing as well but Mimi at 16 years old was brilliant! Such a true talented!

Does anyone else feel that Lucy's death has affected them more than they ever expected? I've watched EastEnders since the start and even though Lucy died 10 months ago it didn't seem any different to any other death at the time. After the live episodes it feels much worse, as though she's only just died and we're only just finding out about it for the first time. The characters and story may be fictional but the feelings they evoke in people aren't. It feels very sad to have lost not only Lucy but a great actress in Hetti.
Yes. It happens a lot of US Soaps. When Maureen Bauer #2 died on Guiding Light (US) fans were very angry that they let Ellen Parker go although she came back as a "Ghost" to help her Family. Then when Jim Davis (Jock Ewing) on Dallas died in 1981, the dynamics of the Show changed a lot. When All My Children 1970-2011 and One Life To Live 1968-2013 had "Anniversary" Shows, Agnes Nixon The Creator of both made Cameo Appearances either as a Hospital Administrator or as a Ghost.
This is SO going to be nominated and won at the British Soap Awards. EastEnders has been absolutely brilliant throughout the past ten months and this storyline deserves an award. Team EastEnders ALL THE WAY!!!!!!
Adam Woodyatt is such an amazing actor... I honestly think he may be one of the best actors of his time !!

HUGE Congratulations to Adam, Laurie, Mimi, Ben and everyone else involved tonight. It was absolutely Flawless. I thought Adam especially was phenomenal and I expect many best actor nods for him in the next year. Plus, little Elliot, what a star under so much pressure. I stand and applaud you all.

I'm rather sad that it had to be Lucy/Hetti 'cos she really brightened up dreary Walford! Always with the pretty young blondes!! :'-( Hetti was a pleasure to watch in EastEnders. I'm still rather sore over the loss of Stacey's friend and Ronnie's long-lost daughter Danielle too. Is it a rule that those who look too much like fairytale Disney princesses must be given a suitably untimely tragic ending? What a dark tale!

This broke my heart. Knowing Lucy was on the brink of change before she died. Adam, Laurie, Mimi and Ben were incredible in the live.

I miss Lucy a lot. Its a shame she had to be the character to go. Think there was much more stories to be told for that character. And judging by the letter, poor girl was going to change. Great performances by all in this live ep. And even more in the flashback ep. You guys should be proud! Here's hoping in 10 years Lucy comes back from the dead ;)

God, the 30th anniversary eps were some of the best EE have ever done in my opinion. Wonder how the next anniversary 1s will top them.
I know eastenders sometimes struggles, all programs that have been on for even 10 years struggle. But I couldn't imagine not coming down at 7:30/8:00 p.m. to watch eastenders. Well done for making it to 30 years and hopefully to another 30 years of eastenders.

This episode was so good that i totally forgot about dean's death. When a death is not the biggest thing in an episode, it must be one hell of an episode.
Fantastic acting!! Such a sad storyline, but it was fantastic, the buildup of it and the aftermath. The fact that this was live astonishes me!! The acting is definitely too real, fabulous.

Boy this was so 180% from when Guiding Light celebrated it's 60th Anniversary in 1997. They had a One Week Storyline where there was a Ball celebrating the birth of the Town Hospital. It was glamour and glitz, nothing like this and in 2007 when they celebrated 70th they showed how it was originally done in Chicago, on the Radio.
I'm upset that Lucy didn't get justice - They're all covering her actual killer, but as we all know secrets don't go down well In Albert Square. Something is bound to happen.

Adam Woodyatt performed brilliantly as Ian, and deserved to win Best Actor at the British Soap Awards. EastEnders also deserved to win Best Soap, as with the other awards they won that year. We need more powerful, unforgettable stuff like this. Come on, EastEnders!
