Why is the mud so black underneath
That is quite an island, spooky and sad, yet fascinating.
@@chattykathie7129 Iron sulfides and broken down assorted organic matter, bacteria and such.
I found the top half of a skull on the mud flats, took it home and e-mailed the police. The 2 local plods turned up and moaned I had moved it, could be a crime scene, took it away for forensic analysis.No concept of tidal mud flats. Anyway a year!! later the local museum phoned me and said it was 2600 years old could they keep it.....
They had to hold it for a year in case somebody came forward to claim it ? 😂🍻

In Photoshop, when you have a label/pattern cut out like the London one (on it's own, blank background ( I like to put it on a 5000x5000 pixel background)) go to edit drop down menu and select Define Brush Preset. then you can paint with it as a brush in any color you want.

Hi Si I love the bottles especially the bottle with iridescence. And some lovely pipes too. The jars are stunning and an excellent find. The skull seems quite sinister and sad because it maybe as a story behind it. "R White's" really goes back so many years. Really being spoiled seeing the fabulous treasures from the Victorian era. Oh wow I love the colour of that bottle with the beautiful blue colour and the swirls. And what a brilliant idea you have for the Pottery shards.

Thumbs up on the digital composition. Being an old porcelain addict, I'm so glad to see you doing something with the shards. If I had access to gorgeous shards like you do, I'd be making bird baths and walkway stones and table tops, etc. My yard would be covered with shard art instead of yard art.

Si, I have an idea for a gift for your blonde pipe queen friend. You know that broken blue and white china fragment with the guy smoking the very long old clay pipe that you found?, maybe you good enlarge that scene on your computer to make a cool looking print for her to hang, or make a magnet etc. I wonder if she ever found a piece of china with someone smoking a pipe before. You gave me the idea when I saw you making that collage of finds on your computer screen in this weeks video.

Another fabulous hunt for the Three Mudketeers!!😂 Interesting little fact many people don’t know but when Charles Dickens ( the Author) was 12 he was sent to work at Warrens Blacking Factory pasting labels onto shoe polish bottles. His Father had been imprisoned as a debtor so the little bit of money Charles made helped feed the family. It’s fun to think that maybe some of the bottles you find might once have had their labels stuck on by the great Author himself.

I would love to see that beautiful piece of broken plate sanded down to just the middle section, so it could be hung on the wall or displayed on a desk. It's got such a beautiful scene. Too bad the whole flowery outline is not in tact. Great finds as usual!

Last year The Scottish Detectorist found an amazing pipe bowl of people playing cricket whilst detecting the ploughed fields of Perthshire (it was an eyes only find not a detecting find). Yours is equally amazing. He also found a different Masonic imagery bowl too. I love the history you both find in your separate fields which we just don’t have here in Australia.

Dot forget, there wee prison barges along the Thames, some of the dead were just tossed. Also skeletons would drift with soil erosion & flooding. Body parts also got thrashed about, eaten & drifted ashore from funerals at sea.
Also, animal carcasses were lobbed overboard, from fishing boats & kitchen mess’ of Navy ships & submarines etc.
Squelching mud,,,,,,such a satisfying sound 🤭🤣

Shaun (sorry if I have spelt his name wrong or mixed up the names completely 🤪) has the trailer facing the wrong way around. The step-plate thingy is meant for an older kid to stand on.
Assuming that it’s the same design my daughter has.
Anyway, I hope he works it all out for your next adventures together.

P.s I wanted to add that your friend explains flint tool making and the different marks on them really well. I learnt so much from that video of you two together - the day he found that absolutely beautiful flint/stone knife blade.
