6. An NFL Playoff Game was streamed exclusively.
Cable/Satellite is still how most people get internet - _in order to do streaming._ So, you can't call it a dinosaur when it's still the nuts and bolts of every other entertainment app.

Are they assuming the streaming companies didn’t do their market research? If they paid $75billion for the rights they obviously know they will recoup their investment. Fans that can’t afford the product won’t watch. Just like they don’t drive Bugattis. But Bugatti is not dropping their prices so poor people can afford their cars. But people in the millions will indeed buy the product and they know it.
Investments in new products are never a "sure thing." There are a lot more failures than successes. Having games broadcast over national television is the sure thing. Streaming relies on a middleman, ISP's, so it's not a sure thing -- say, if ISP's up and decide they need a cut when web traffic soars out of hand.
I don't know if you guys are missing this but I have streaming and I don't have cable. And I'm sure that's the case for millions and millions of people.
