Namibia 2023, Ep. 4 (z Kolmanskopu do Sesriem)

4. epizoda (in English below) - z města duchů Kolmanskop nedaleko Luderitz se vracíme oblastí Sperrgebiet do vnitrozemí, a míříme zpět do nitra pouště Namib, do místa jménem Sesriem, asi 500 km. Je to dlouhá a osamělá cesta většinou po gravel roads, horkou ale působivou namibijskou krajinou. Na konci cesty v Sesriem zjišťujeme opět defekt pneumatiky, tentokrát se musela pořídit zcela nová. Brzy ráno se vydáváme asi 70 km do údolí Sossuvlei s ikonickou pánví Deadvlei mezi obřími písečnými dunami Big Mamma a Big Daddy. To je místo, které nelze v Namibii vynechat, i když se do něj po 10 letech vracíme.

Episode 4 - from the ghost town of Kolmanskop near Luderitz, we return inland through the Sperrgebiet area, heading back into the heart of the Namib Desert, to a place called Sesriem, about 500 km away. It's a long and lonely drive, mostly on gravel roads, through the hot but spectacular Namibian landscape. At the end of the road in Sesriem, we find we have a flat tyre again, this time a brand new one. Early in the morning we head about 70km into the Sossuvlei Valley with the iconic Deadvlei Basin between the giant sand dunes of Big Mamma and Big Daddy. This is a place not to be missed in Namibia, even though we are returning to it after 10 years.
