I've been meaning to get out onto the streets since I went vegan at the start of July of last year, but with a busy schedule and concerns over my preparedness, I let it remain in my "future plans".
This was until a recent move and an invitation from the lovely Amber, of @Amber.For.Animals, to join them on one of their street activism sessions.
It was a great experience. This video shows the highlights of that afternoon: A loose collection of some positive interactions I enjoyed - Nothing dramatic, but worth sharing and accounting for.
We need to get out there! - and reconnect people to their existing ethics. It may sometimes feel like a drop in the ocean - but I made a difference to the lives of these particular individuals and that may mean a lot to them!
Strangers are much more open-minded than family-members! - believe me!
In sharing this content, I hope to reach more people, entertain, of course, and in this particular video: give other vegans the encouragement to just get out there and give it a go :) - WE CAN ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
The production of this video has a lot of flaws sure: poor framing, out of focus, lost recordings - but it's good enough! And it's just to get started!

Interesting how people say "I used to be vegan but now I'm a vegetarian" - which is the same thing as saying "I used to not beat up kids but now I beat them up on occasion". Thanks for being out there to help raise human consciousness.

SO TRUE! I've been doing street outreach since end of last year but haven't really even tried properly talking to my friends and family about it all :/
100% - People that know you end up having a "firm" understanding of who you are - they've "figured you out already" - they begin to act as though you couldn't teach them anything they didn't know already... and, quite contrary to that, act as though "we changed" - WE'RE THE SAME! - before and after going vegan - just more enlightened!
In contrast, a stranger doesn't carry this baggage about who we are - they are open to getting to know us and ultimately find themselves open to learning knew information too! - it's worth learning this quick to not be so defeated by our efforts with our friends/family... many vegans I know quickly lose hope and miss this crucial fact that would suspend their initial desire to speak for the animals!

I am an outreacher and national organizer for Anonymous for the Voiceless and I can say it's not easy to do outreach without showing the footage (just like Ed, Clif Grant, and your group) however you do an amazing job of it. Two of my favourite things I will definitely repeat in my outreach "the changes we make are so small..." And "I just conditioned myself with the truth" 🩵🐄🐖🙏👊
