I can’t wait to get my hands on this. The intakes, plenum, headers, flywheel, and driveshaft are all on my list. Possibly a taller rear diff soon as well. I know you’ve got your hands full with projects on this platform but have you considered a taller diff ratio? Of all people, I’d be curious to know your take on that.
Hey brother! The 3.91 is an interesting choice for the SMG3. I think it would be useful on a stock drivetrain. With the lightened drivetrain, I don't see the point. I would absolutely do it if I had a 6spd though, and fit a 4.10.
It's being planned! Currently focused on the carbon plenum, the roof project is next. DCT has 2x options on the market, but they need to be proven out in the field.
@@euroconnex2712 great! But I heard that nobody was able to put DCT in e60 besides BMW concern itself. Gintani was working on it for 5+ years but never released the result. Some people said they were trying to hire the main guy, who invented soft for DCT (in M5 CSL prototype project) and he was charging ~ $4.000, but still no results online. Correct me if I'm wrong please
Which one sounds better and louder between this one and the CarboProject plenum? Judging by the sound in the clips, the latter one's better but I'm keen to get thoughts from the first-hand experience.
@@euroconnex2712 Your M5 seems to be downshifting very quickly, are you doing any tuning? The stock M5/M6 doesn't seem to rev match well, can an SMG tune improve that?
Hey! Depends which ones - the CSL V10 had carbon leather trims and Recaro Pole Positions. I'm reimagining it with an Alcantara wheel similar to the M Performance in the E92 along with complete pre-preg carbon trims like BMW did the in the E92 GTS and Edition spec cars as well. That’s very nice. Could you put this power and feel into perspective to compare to a tuned NA e92 M3 and ess 625 supercharged e92 M3 both of which I have had but never a e60 M5. Thanks.
I have a FBO E92 M3. In its current form, my V10 M5 clocks 8.25 in 100 to 200 kph. The M3 V8 will be lucky to hit low 9 seconds. 1 second at 200 kph is 55 meters. The M5 is just a bit 5 meters long. That's 11 car lengths - or half a football field, and it hasn't hit 5th gear yet: it's money zone. The V10 is another league.
@@euroconnex2712 wow, that’s amazing. Thagain for your reply mate. Well that reply answers all my questions. The only other thing I might considered when I finally get my M5 may be a slightly lower ratio diff. Cheers.

Was fun toying arround with you lmao
Mexico is packed with M5s these days!
This is awesome. Can you please do an acceleration video from the outside of the car if you get a chance?
It's planned this Spring :) Currently a bit too cold still.

did you get more power ?
Reimagination of M5 e60 CSL prototype? Means you swapped DCT gearbox in it?

The 1 piece plenum is louder. The 4,000 to 6,000 range brings about new noises as well during the cam overlap phase.
Will a lightweight flywheel for M6 be commercialized soon?
hey! yes, I'm awaiting news. I've been testing it in the E60 since August.

@@Mr.Bimmer SMG tune will help, but it's not magic. Lightening the drivetrain has the most impact.
