- Aikeknees Railway's first train of the new year. With the temperature rising to a balmy -10, the sun is shining and it's time to open up all the lines. Running a "Plow Extra" just seems like the thing to do.
Check out our Facebook page. / aikenknees-railway-109...
Our videos are intended for older railway and model hobbyists and are not made for viewers (kids) under the age of consent (should be accompanied by an adult while watching).

It's really unreasonable how happy these garden trains in the snow make me! Best one I've seen yet!
Thanks. 👍
@@AikenkneesRailwayyour railway is so classic in ho I don’t know why. but anyways your railway is cute
This is a man who definitely loves trains. Great job.
I love how the trains get good at plowing on the snow.
Awwwwww, Yeah!! My grandsons would love this in their yard, their Dad is an engineer for CN!! And he has plowed the drifts at 55 mph, BAM, BOOM!!
I love watching model trains do what their prototype relatives do.
I love the caboose! Real classic!
I wish I started one 40 years ago!! LOVE IT!!!!!
That’s cool, looks really good in the powder snow.
I admire a Man who isn’t afraid to run his 1000 dollar plus G scale trains around in the snow.
I think you should build a Russell with wings that run off a servo to clear that double track.
Thanks for sharing!
A fantastic video clip. I really like how the locomotive 🚂 clears the snow from the rails. Greetings Franz
Good plowing snow, it actually threw off instead of just pushing up. Very nice.
Thanks
That layout is awesome. I really like the wide curves and track switch elements! That's how it's done!
Glad you like it
Imagine if they decide to sell the house and be like "Oh yeah there is a railway passing through the backyard..."
one the most interesting model railroading videos I've seen and the snow is real
Thanks.
Wonderful video! She did a great job plowing snow!👍🏻

Aikeknees --Achy Knees Haw! All that's needed is a snowblower to deal with the pesky central comb.
Ke agusto c divierte este amigo.
That’s very interesting model train set clever snow off the tracks
Really cool, from 1:04 - 1:08 that was a real tough stretch of track to plow through!
You should see the weed eater attachment he has for summertime.
Cool I'm the 530th subscriber. There is a first for everything. Also I have been watching these videos for some time and I love them. Keep up the good work.
Welcome subscriber #530 :-). Thanks, enjoy.

G Scale
Thanks, track was cleaned back in December when we ran some Christmas trains for visiting neighbourhood families.
Maybe this is what I’ll do if I ever have a backyard railroad
WOW thats amazing :)
Thanks! 😄
And it works good at that
This reminds me of Donner's Pass
Needs more subs!
Hello Aikenknees,
what does G track use? I'd imagine DC? What about track voltage and amperage? Also, how are electrical shorts prevented during operation during snow / rain conditions?
Thanks,
-Eric
We use 18V DC, up to 15 amps depending on the number of locomotives running. Summer, winter rain or snow, no issues.
Ha! Where can I order the 8-track version of the soundtrack? :-)
I'm waiting until I get 1,000,000 pre-orders before I do another run----LOL...………..…..!!!
Very nice!
Thanks Northern Country Railroad
Really cool
If your play this at 2x, it Looks more realistic
✔
You should have made it go faster I what have cranked It wide open
Hello, can you please tell me where you got the red snow plow? Is he built by himself? Can it be exposed to any car or is it a unit with the car?
Was built by "Aristocraft". They went under a number of years back. You still see them for sale on Ebay.
Right on that cool
Very cool
Is this ok for the rails or train? I'm pretty sure water and electricity don't mix
No issues, everything's good. 👍
Looked almost like a model train.
G-scale, 1:29
where can you buy this train what is the name of this train
The plow was made by Aristocraft. They have been out of business for many years.
Impressive.
Thanks.

How do you prevent rust
Track is a brass alloy, When the temperature is sub-zero, there's no rust. When the equipment is brought in for the day, I blow it clean and dry with compressed air.
Nice video 👍 question? Do the trains these days still get the power from the electric Tracks? Or they are powered by a motor inside them?
Ours are analog track power, filtered DC.
Aikenknees2013 Railway never heard of it where do you buy trains like this?
just like my brio snowplow
How much scale is the train..?????
1:29 scale.
Available on vhs and beta! 😂 Great snowplowing video.
Thanks! 😃
Hello, Who made the GPs and the caboose?
Locomotives and caboose come from USA Trains, (Charles Ro Supply Co.)
are theese battery operated? I dont know much but i imagine electric rails wouldn't do so good in the snow
Track power, no problems rain or shine. Hot summers to freezing winters, works ok.
Learned something new. Thanks.
this is oddly satisfying
but also how do u deal with maintenance on garden railroads?
Not much, clean the track once in a while, sweep leaves off, it's all part of the fun in the hobby.
Aikenknees2013 Railway and wen the tracks warp?
No warpage, some frost heaves in the spring maybe.
make a steam train have a snowplow
Thanks for this present. Oh my Good.!!!
One question: are the locomotives self-propelled by internal batteries, or do they take energy from the rails?
We run with 20V-DC track power.
@@AikenkneesRailway ok my friend. At then only another question: the snow not make cortocircuit???
Thanks a lot. And enjoy.
No shorts, even when we run in damp weather.
Excellent! Way to keep the line open. Battery powered or track powered?
Bridgeworks 15 amp, good old analog track power
Yes
Tie up a mouse on the front of the plow.
No horn.....
What scale is this??
G scale, 1:29.
works grate. Sub.
Looks like a way to have something short out, or maybe I'm just paranoid
No issues, we run summer, winter, rain or shine.
cyber rednec Your Paranoid , it’s DC will run u DER water
My birthday
I use my rotary snow blower
The Aikenknees Rly back shop is currently building a rotary. It should be ready in January when the really big snows hit.
Are those SD40-2 units?
Both are USAT GP38-2.
Ok thank you
❤️🚂💨💨💨
Fuck it, I'm building something.
There are two tiny escaped convicts on board
😂😂
Bagus
Yo..
What kind of job u have to afford such things?
Dang.. those must be expensive..
i_ nursamsi not really the plow around $60 each Locomotive about $300 each and the caboose $50 so around $710 for all that stuff
Current ebay Canadian replacement prices- Plow-$150 (if you can find one), Locomotive-$550 each, Caboose-$170, Track $8/ft x 400ft, Power pack, radio remote controllers, etc. $$$$$
I wish I have a big house
