Madeline Brewer deserves an Emmy for her portrayal of Janine in Season 4. The arc or evolution of her character is phenomenal, and she kills it every episode.
Wow....Alexis is indeed shy, very quiet, and lets others always talk. But she had a backbone on Gilmore Girls when dealing with Paris😁. Cannt help but to love her.
These women are really great. Time has long waited for these lovely women to finally get their recognitions. Dowd and Moss awards are long overdue and if they didn't won these awards this year then I don't know, well deserved and breathtaking performances they have offered this season. For Bledel to have been given a role that shows her prowess in acting is also long overdue. This has been her year and now to be recognized as a dramatic actress which should be done already. The depth of the performances of these great ladies plus a thought provoking timely drama of the year they deserved all these awards. Congratulations to The Handmaid's Tale and theses ladies overall.
@@nates6893 Funnily enough, it was because she was in Mad Men that she was offered a main role in The Handmaid's Tale. Elizabeth Moss fought for her to get that part. And well she did.
I don't care about Elizabeth Moss' religion! That's her personal business, she's a wonderful actor, truly deserving of all the accolades she's receiving this year, and she seems to be a good person.
vp200 how can you be a good person and knowingly ignore atrocities committed by your church? There is no excuse anymore, the proof is everywhere. All the stuff her show is promoting is happening right now!
maya I think people who are in Scientology participate for very personal reasons, just like with people and other religions, and they get things out of it that help them in their lives. When something is working for you personally, I think people tend to be tone deaf towards negativity about something that they think they know better about. I don't support Scientology, but I think this is how their followers feel.
*+maya* She was raised in Scientology, who's to say she had any choice in being a member of that cult? Maybe she's been brainwashed her whole life, can you blame her for that? Even Leah Remini was a loyal Scientologist for decades, and it was very emotionally difficult for her to escape it. And if she wanted to leave, she may feel like it's not a choice for her. Scientologists threaten their members with excommunication if they are to leave (they refuse contact between apostates and church members, meaning if she was to leave she could no longer communicate with her family or friends in the church).
I was feeling the same way. Thought her performance was one of the best I have ever seen, but recently found out that she is a Scientologist. I asked around a bit and she is second generation, which is a tougher situation, I think. I just hope someone is able to get through to her and help her see the truth. The brainwashing is so strong, it's going to be a battle.
I think Jannie should have definitely won..she was so absolutely kind..and ingenuine... the one who loses her eye..is continuously beaten ...loses her son..and then her daughter...she survives the colonies...survives Aunt Lidia...rape....accepting to sacrificing herself so she and June can remain with the rebels and they can eat..which June couldn't do, has a special bond with all the handmaidens and Aunt Lidia..remains positive and optimistic!! What an incredible job Mad does with her portrayal of Jannie!!
I completely agree with the previous comments regarding Elisabeth Moss and her personal choices. I respect the artistry and it's important to be able to separate the two -- enjoying a performer for their abilities as an actor doesn't have to collide with who they really are. Having said that & given the current state of our culture, it continues to disappoint me when a person of intellect takes an opportunity to support publicly an organization that thrives on abuse.
"Choices". Scientologists are indoctrinated into believing they are supporting a noble cause. In addition, they are threaten with exile and excommunication if they are to leave the church. She had no choice in joining the church in the first place. She was born into a Scientologist family. She may have the choice to leave, but even if she wanted to she may be terrified of the consequences.
You are a thoughtful and knowledgeable interviewer as you should be. i thought alexi did hear that statement which is why i thought she looked milo's way but alas.
I dont understand why you cant respect someones religion? Who cares how you feel about it. Cult? Well, arent all religions cults, some just have a bigger following.
It's not a religion and this is not about respect. She is supporting abuse, rape, pedophilia, tax evasion, torture and even murder. You need to educate yourself. Her 'religion' was literally formed to scam money away from naive people. She's sitting there with the full belief she's an alien with supernatural abilities ffs.
Do you mean like the way she respects the Christian faith by her funding of and production of the Handmaid's Tale which is a complete distortion of Christianity and basically amounts to hate speech in it's purest form toward those who. happen to have a conservative or Christian world view?
Linda C it is not a distirtion, that is the way people live under the "pure" Christianity, centurys ago. Womans could not read or get any kind of education and they were destinated to live there entire life to please them husbands. Sometimes people forget how fucked up the Bible is. I am not defending scientology by the way, that is fucked up to, like any religion
Funny how everyone is concerned about Elisabeth Moss' religion. If she was a catholic or especially a Muslim nobody would care. All I'm going to say is education is key. :)
Oh, they would really really care if she was muslim. They would have alot less views. If she was catholic tho, it wouldn't even be a subject of conversation. Cause all of the murders the cathos did for several centuries just don't count.
I DONT CARE FOR HER RELIGION SHE IS GOOD ACTRESS AND THERE IS NO WAY THAT SHE DO A NOSE JOB OR SOMETHING. SHE WAS PERFECT IN MAD MEN. RORY WILL ALWAYS STAY RORY EVEN WITH 36 BUT I AM SURE SHE IS GOOD IN HANDMAID TALE. THAT IS THAT KIND OF STORRY WHERE YOU CANT FAIL.
Hollywood show is getting asshole ugly isn't it. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
And yet you're watching them, and they're famous, and successful, and you're sitting in a dirty armchair in the small house in the middle of nowhere, and no one is watching you.

Yeah! I’m rooting for her this year, she’s definitely is going to be nominated, hopes she’s taking the Emmy, cus is really deserving!
she just got nominated!!

she was sweet in Sin City as well :)

Alexis was on Mad Men too. Also noticed Ann Dowd was in True Detective, her character gave me the creeps. What a great actor.
She was there for like three episodes and she was unforgettable.
@@nates6893 True but that's where she met her husband- it blows my mind that she's married to Pete from Mad men
@@nates6893 Funnily enough, it was because she was in Mad Men that she was offered a main role in The Handmaid's Tale. Elizabeth Moss fought for her to get that part. And well she did.
Loved Ann Dowd on the Leftovers, she was a cult leader in that show lol
THATS ANN!!! WHAT! for real I didn't recognize her but her performance was amazing!!! Her performances are always so nuanced
I’m in awe of them all as actresses, praise be !!!

It’s not personal business when that cult destroys other lives. That said, she’s an amazing actress but disappointed to hear she’s a scientologist.

I am still terrified of Aunt... Dowd! 😭
GREAT ACTRESS
I read the hand maids tale in college 20 years ago. It is an intense book. Atwood is a very fine author
Alexis 😍😍😍😍😍
Are Alexis and Pete Campbell married?
@@sandranorman5469 yeah
Elisabeth seems like such a nice girl I hate knowing she's a Scientologist. Not sure what to feel about her...
Exactly! Kinda scary how you can never know what's beneath the surface.

I hope you're right but I somewhat doubt it.
I hear she walked out of Leah Remini's acceptance speech at last year's Emmys...

I really feel like it was unintentional, but I wish they would've let Alexis get a word in during this. :/ Regardless, I love them all.
Ann Dowd is so pretty and what an actress!
