Excellent, I hadn't realised that Litchi had an obviously counter. I'm seriously thinking about getting it, but will probably wait until it is updated with an erm counter too... I think I'd probably fly it with the gimbal set to fpv at first because the banking feedback would help with flying. And there is a weird firmware update being pushed out through DJI Fly now. It has no.obvious menu functions, so I wonder if it's intended to make it easier to do tight banking turns without yaw input on the left stick - as with the A2. When the Android version comes, I'll check to see if flight behaviour has changed. The iOS version is out now. Your little girl stole the show of course. Strangely, my wife also gets sick of me flying my when we are out for a walk. You are soooo close to that 1k milestone. Good luck.

Hi Paul, The weather is stopping me testing the new Android 1.1.10 Mavic Mini firmware, but I have spotted a new feature in the menu system which I think is intended to support fpv: If you go to the menu and select the Controls tab, go down to sticks. There were three stick modes, but now there is a Custom mode too. Select manual and drag the left stick yaw control over to the right stick, swapping it with the side-slip control. I think this should make the right stick give you banking turns when in forward flight. Save that and go to the gimbal settings and select fpv to get the more natural visual feedback. I don't know if this will work with Litchi, but if you set it in DJI Fly, maybe Litchi will inherit the settings. I hope you can do a video demonstrating this for DJI Fly, if not for Litchi. Cheers!

I bought Litchi then asked for the beta version and even though it was full, as I had already bought it they put me on the beta trial. I don't want to recommend doing that in case they stop allowing people the access. I am afraid I don't know when the update will happen yet 😫 Sorry!

Yes, but the Lichi app is still not released yet. So you would need to apply to Litchi to use their Beta version. While Android can do this easily, their iPhone Beta is full, so I bought it and had to ask to use the beta version via email, then send in proof of purchase before they sent me the link to the beta version.
I believe there is a way with certain apps, but it is not something I have looked into as I don’t have one atm. I know a lot of people are finding it difficult though, so I would research a bit further If you don’t already have the goggles.
I am not 100% sure as I cannot test it, but as the Mavic Air is compatible with Litchi, I don't see why it wouldn't work. You would need to check if the adapter is the same for the mavic air controller too...
I was one of those people that kept getting sent random Chinese crap from Amazon, most of which ended in a box in the cupboard, (anyone need skin care packs?) That included some of these "VR Goggles" which at first I thought was an Occulus headset, but turned out to be a crappy plastic shell to fit your phone into. I have the adaptors, and naturally the DJI Mavic Mini and the Litchi app, so I'll give it a crack. It's a shame they couldn't somehow manage to run a second phone as a display. Any old Android would do.
As long as you phone can fit inside the goggles and connect to a cable to your phone, that should work. If you want some pro goggle you will not be able to connect to them without another camera.
@@paul-thys I don't know how you fly with two screens like that, I can only do with one screen. I tried on a buddies headset like you have and it bugged me like crazy. Went back to use my single screen headset with a screen magnifier and it felt perfect. No missing space in the middle and my brain didn't have to process two screens at once.
I am not 100%. I know Litchi is compatible with the Mavic Pro, but I have not tested it myself. I also do not know if it uses the same ports as the mini.
They do have some really good features, but tend to streamline towards the drones primary use. I believe they have their first FVP drone out this year, which will connect to their goggles.
vr box is a big shit for those who wear glasses, focus can't be done, setup too complicated, all you can see is double into the screen, better order a dronemask, more expensive but do the job.....
I tried the same approach mentioned in the video.. i used a micro usb male to usb female adapter and used it along with my USB C type charging cable.. However when i turned on the remote and the drone, I was not able to establish a connection between my phone and the remote.. @@paul-thys It worked!! I got a new micro USB to USB OTG adapter and then my phone was connected with the remote. This is a nice and simple workaround to use the Mavic Mini in the VR mode.. really feels like you're flying up in the air! Thanks a lot Paul!
Brilliant idea. Been flying rc fixed wing for ages and wanted to get into FPV. This method is great to practice with before I take the plane up.

The headset has no power at all. It is basically a box that holds your phone with lens’s to enlarge your phone screen

No, You will need to be able to split the screen which the DJI App cannot do.

It is out for the DJI Mini.
The Mini 2 is in Beta for android and it is down to DJI when/if they allow it the SDK release for iPhone.

It doesn’t fall off just doesn’t feel it goes in the whole way. It worked for me. The one from banggood just felt a more solid connection.
