This guitar is a fabulous parlour. I have, and have owned, numerous high-end Martins, Gibsons and USA Guilds and this really does hold its own in term of tone and playability as a fingerstyle guitar. Super comfortable to play and more generous string spacing than most of the Martin 15 series guitars on which this is based. The solid top is getting better and better as well. Incredible value and set up well right out of the box. Get this and save your cash! [The latest version which I have has a nice aged finish]
What a sweet voice that little Sigma has, that tune always brings a lump to my throat. My great grandfather delivered sacks of oats (he grew and dried them) to the Titanic a few days before it sailed to its doom!
Beautiful playing of a beautiful hymn !! Thank you, those are amazing guitars ! I have a dealer in Ohio I may go out and visit sometime ! Thank you again it is beautiful !
Hi Kody, thanks, it's an old hymn 'Nearer my God to Thee'. Made even more famous by the film Titanic. Apparently the band played this hymn as the ship was going down. I've added in the little bit at the start and end.
I have the big brother to your guitar - the OOOM-15S - and it's just a lovely guitar all around. Really fine build quality and the sound is wonderful. I myslef love the V profile neck. Lovely playing here. You can really hear for yourselves what a nice sounding guitar it is. :-)
mandh50 me too . I have the 000m-15S+ it’s a great finger picker. Mellow with balanced mids. I love the guitar so much. I’m trying to get the Sitka spruce top version 000T-28S+ . They don’t sell it in NZ . So I will have to get it on the next Europe trip. I can’t wait. Sigma . Martin sound for s lot less money. Have you installed a pickup in yours? I recommend the k n k pure mini. Both guitar and pickup go together like bread and butter 😋 cheers Brent 🇳🇿
this guitar is the best guitar to get lovely and light to play lovely sounding easy and responsive . this is the best guitar i have played im not a musician. just a utube learner for the last 5 years and have had yamaha ,tanglewood and taylor gs mini and big baby .taylors are outstanding by the way. also have the sigma d41 which is another guitar to get . but this sigma 000m15s is the best of them . the worste and hardest to play was the yamaha 720s i had .tanglewood was ok but sounded bad .the big baby tallor was great and very easy to play. and the gs mini taylor was another must guitar to get . but this sigma is the one and the right money too.
What a stunning performance...sweet tone & outstanding projection from your sweet little Sigma. Can you please advise your string make & gauge please. Have you made any additional changes please ? Very interested in finding one of these thanks to you.
Colm McKeown Hi Colm, thanks. I normally use either Martin Lifespan Phos bronze or D'Addario EXP's in custom light gauge on this guitar. Apart from the neck re-profile there's been no other significant changes made to it..
@gradun123 Really great rendition here! I have the Sigma SG200 myself and they're fantastic guitars. Is this tuned to standard? Would love to learn this arrangement! Thanks!!
Sad, but such a soothing melody, gets down to the very soul. I am trying to learn it on my Gretsch g9521 000 guitar. Have you had an opportunity to play one? They were in short production in 2017 but are no longer available. It's turning out to be my favorite.
both but dont ask me about the specifications, you can find them at their website, the 000M-15S has a very fat V-neck with wide nut, the 00 Version had a thinner and narrower neck, so i was surprised to read that the original poster here had to "re-profile" the neck.
Neil Hong Hi Neil, no, the neck is not low oval like the Martins. It's 1 3/4" width and has more of a deeper v shape to it which is why I re-shaped it. I have fairly small hands and found the original shape just a bit too deep for me. The Sigmas with the 1 11/16" necks are more like the martin low profile necks.. Cheers
gradun123 Thanks, i live in Hawaii and i'm trying to get one, but we don't have these in the states:( Im deciding between 00-15S vs the 000-15S. your thoughts on sound and comfort would be much appreciated. Volume is not too important, just want the richness. I'm a quiet singer. Aloha
Neil HongHi Neil, for playing comfort, I'd probably go for the Sigma 000-15M rather than the S model. You should also get a bit deeper, warmer bass response with the slightly bigger body..
Thank you Thomas. I'd say the 000-15M has a bit more bass response. It also can handle strumming better than the Sigma. The Sigma is a great small fingerstyle guitar though for the money.
gradun123 . I have the 000m-15 as well. The deep neck doesn’t bother me thought. Have you tried the Sitka spruce 000 version. 000T-28S+? If you have your thoughts would be appreciated. I love the 000-15 so much , I want the Sitka version. The only thing is it’s not sold in NZ .im heading to Europe next year. And it maybe coming back home with me😋🇳🇿 cheers Brent. Oh great playing. The tune also reminds me of “waltzing Matilda “ the good old Australian anthem 🤔
+Juan Pablo Hi Juan. Please see my notes at the top. "Sold a GS Mini Ltd for this. Perhaps not as punchy a guitar but sweeter with more overtones. Also the wider neck makes for easier fingerstyle playing. Definitely more Martin sounding as are other Sigmas.." Mostly I preferred the tone of this guitar over the GS Mini.
"I didn't get on too well with the rather deep V profile neck so took the rather drastic measure of re-profiling it." like to do the same surgery with mine... how did you do that.
I used a fairly rough wood rasp initially to remove the bulk then progressively finer grades of sandpaper to bring to a smooth surface once i had the profile I wanted. Dampening the wood a little in the final stages and allowing to dry before smoothing. I then used a good quality satin varnish building up fine coats and smoothing down in-between varnishing. Worked out pretty good apart from a little of the original stain showing at the heel of the neck..
Nice playing, sigmas sound great for what they are. But i disagree, this is not a parlor. The lower bout is too big to be in that class hence why its a 00
@@markhelm7426 Hi, I just did it myself and finished off with satin varnish if I remember. Didn't actually measure the profile. Just sanded it till it felt right for me..

Beautiful rendition. I love the sound of mahogany guitars.

I have this guitar. You make it sound so beautiful. I love that old hymn. I’m gonna work on your arrangement.
Very nicely done. You have a very musical touch. Look forward to hearing more!!
Gorgeous performance , beautiful attention to timing
Thanks very much..
Simply beautiful. Inspiring
Amazing playing and sound! Ive got my eye on the OOM-15
Beautiful interpretation of Nearer My God to Thee. Hoping to buy a Sigma within the month. Thanks

Thank you for your kind comments.
Love the way you play this hymn, we used to sing it when I was younger (in french since we are in Quebec).
Thank you Pascal
Very nice playing. It sounds special on that guitar too.
Thank you, yes, new D'Addario EXP's. 12's. I agree, slotted headstocks look nice!
you couldn't have played it better - so sweet
Thanks for that Larry
This has made up my mind about sigma guitars ,no one could complain about tone ,it just sings ,nicely played
InstaBlaster
Fantastic playing and version. Congratulations!
Just stubbled on this while looking up info Parlour and Travel guitars. Really nice arrangements, thanks ! I'll have to have a go at this.

Thanks Gregor. It is my own version. Unfortunately I don't have tab written down for it..
Thank you. It's only 14" across at the lower bout and is really a parlour size guitar.
Very nice. What is the name of this song?

Thanks Wilma, sorry, I don't have tabs for this. Just my own arrangement but not written down, don't think I could..
Thanks Keith!
What hymne do you play here so beatifully? Do you have de tabs?
The hymn is 'Nearer my God to Thee'. I'm sorry I don't have tabs for it.
the best 🙏

Hi Dan, sorry, no I've never played one. Really nice looking guitar!
@@gradun123 May I ask what type of capo you are using. I am looking for one that 1) won't dent the neck 2) no fret buzz 3) easy to use. Thanks again.
@@danwhite3746 Nowadays I use the Shubb capo. Pretty indiscreet and can be used with little pressure to give buzz free notes..
@@gradun123 Thanks for your help. I just received my Shubb S1 capo and it works very well.
Do you know of a guitar that have 12 frets down to the body, but with a standart size body...?
great. Did you have to lower the action?
Think I probably did lower it a little.
Nice, where can I get tabs for this?
Hi, sorry I have no tabs for this as it's my own arrangement and doubt I could set it down in tablature.
Where and what brand of case did you get? Thanks.
there is a lot about that tune that sounds very like Bonnie Gallawa' an old Scottish song, but well played.
hello, and thank you for the demo, please do you recommend this guitar or fender parlour or epiphone el-00 ?
i own sigma OOM-15S+ and i highly recommend it - lightweight, smaller body, soft strings (setup), and it just keeps ringing ... love it
I just bought this guitar off the back of this video. Do you have any tabs for this, your rendition is stunning?
Thank you Nihad. Sorry, but I don't have tabs for this. The arrangement is just in my head..!
No worries.
Hi. I just got a gig bag for this guitar..
Beautiful. Hey, what tuning are you using for this song?
Hi there, thank you. I'm just using standard tuning for this playing in the key of C.
had one but sent it back because the neck was too thin and narrow for me

you are correct, i can only tell that i had both guitars (not at the same time) and the smaller one had a considerably thinner and narrower neck.
Sounds really nice. Is this your own interpretation of the tune? I recognised it from Mike Oldfield at first. Thanks for posting.
Thanks Jeroen, yes, it's my own interpretation of the tune.
