Seriously why didn't akechi just said "I'll pull strings and arrest you"
Probably wanted to be seen as this pure detective of justice that was on their side, so threatening to basically forge evidence would’ve been a bad look.
@@7VemesisGames yeah but like, it would have been better way to you know, get them to come, way better than a vid that can just be caught with cgi. Maybe It could have been worded like "people will believe me, and even if I don't have a lot of evidence, my word would put you on watch" basically saying that they can't do their phantom theives stuff.
You can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you're saying that should've been Akechi's argument/blackmail to get the thieves to join him, I think it's mostly down to the fact, even though that could be faked, the phantom thieves know it's real so as far as they're concerned, they've been caught. It also supposedly comes from some Ace Detective that the public trusts at this point, therefore, in their heads, if Akechi brings this to the public, they're screwed. So I think the reason he didn't just threaten to lie is because he was confident they didn't have the stones to say "bring it to the police then".
