OMG a huge thank. This video, especially speaker's charm has totally saved me from the confusion. We all wanna make the perfect pairing, like fancy wine gotta go with the fancy food that sometimes we get stressed and somehow ruin the whole savoring experience. After this video, I learned that it actually turns out that as long as we enjoy the wine and ourselves, it is the perfect pairing.
Hi John! Gerald gave a great explanation about food and wine pairing here! If you're interested in learning even more, check out my 21 Days to Wine RUclips series! Episode 21 dives into with the same topic and Episode 1 begins with an Intro to Wine Tasting. Let me know what you think!
Me too... I love to cherish a good bottle of wine just by itself while relaxing and watching videos like these My favs are Argentinian Malbec & Australian Shiraz
My fav wine is the bottle furthest to our left on the table, Caymus (Cab Sav). It is the 40 year anniversary bottle from 2012, which was and is a great year. Displaying Caymus has made me respect you even more.
My English language students are business people, and need these tips for inviting their counterparts from other countries when they come to Mexico. Mexican food is itself a complicated mixture, and recommend a regional dish can be um... difficult. Thank you for simplifying the food pairing. I would really appreciate it if you make some comments about Mexican food pairing, - if possible of course.
This is true- I began to think lamb which is close to Borrego and Barbacoa would pair well with red wine. But some closure goes a long way :) any more tips in the comments would help, thanks!
Hi there! Gerald did a great job in this video. I have tons of fun and informative wine videos on my channel to help you to taste (and smell) like the best of 'em. Check out my 21 Days to Wine series. Episode 21 dives into the subject of food and wine pairing and Episode 1 of the series is an 'Introduction to Wine Tasting'-- I'd love to know what you think!
i love how people come here to get some quick tips to impress a girl, if you don't like wine then don't pretend you do, you can't impress if you look sour every time you take a sip. have a cosmopolitan just own it.
There are so many different types of wine, and only a few of them will make someone 'look sour' - this is likely down to the acidity in a fresh white, or the tannin in a solid red, by the way. There is a wine for everyone!

Part of our Gourmet offerings at Gourmet Basket is fine wine. However, we just don’t toss it in along with fruits or other offerings. Instead, we work with our clients to recommend a fine wine based on their requirements and tastes, as well as budgets. We have worked with wine specialists to develop a fine palate and sensibility that appeals to our clients and this has brought back our clients to us, year after year during the gifting season! “Chocolate Sundae from McDonalds.” A. You’d be lucky to even get an ice cream CONE from McDonalds, let alone a sundae. B. If someone actually pairs wine with fast food, they’re just making excuses for Alcoholism.
I don't care for these "consume this kind of beverage to be a real™ man" statements. Drink whatever you like most. Still, thanks for the informative, if basic, video :)
You give some specifics, but if you're just going to toss it up in the air and tell us that it really doesn't matter and to drink what we what, you've ultimately done little to make the video justify it's length.
Ouch! The whole point was to give you pointers and then let you try them out for yourself. I don't want people to think it is mission impossible when they are trying to pair wines with their meal. I want it to be simple to start with and then they can get more specific with practice.
"Real men drink wine." - That's bullshit. Real men don't care to follow an arbitrary rule like this that some random guy in a RUclips video imposes on them.
Hmm, I have to disagree with real men drink wine statement. Some people just prefer certain types of tastes over others, I prefer certain whiskey or beer over a glass of wine any day. But that's due to the taste of wine doesn't interest or intrigue me, I won't force myself to drink something for appearance. I drink what pleasures me, as a man should do.
We each bring our own unique sensory apparatus to the process of tasting. If everyone in the world could possibly take a bite of one big apple, each of us quite literally tastes something different. What we "taste," -- that is, the story we tell ourselves as our individual, complex, and completely unique brains interpret the signals that they are getting from each of our individual, complex and unique sensory nervous systems -- is ours and ours alone. The biochemical and bioelectrical processes that combine to create the thought, "Hey, this wine goes great with pepperoni pizza" are so staggeringly complex, not to mention situational, that the idea that someone can actually know what they are doing when they prescribe a specific wine with a specific dish is laughable.
The Gospel: 💜💕💜💖💞💜💕For what I received I passed on to you as of [first importance]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time,
🙏“Dear Heavenly Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen"
am I the only one thinking this gentleman knows so little about wine pairing? he might know about wines alone but not wine and food which is a totally different subject. For example, pinot noir is a super safe choice and it pairs well with many pasta dishes, roasted ducks and fatty fish mainly salmon. it also works with pizza. Depending where the pinot noir is coming from it can 8n deed pair with various meals. The dark chocolate does NOT pair well with Cabernet Sauvignon. it pairs perfectly well with the Southern French blend perfectly. I am sure the video creator is going to Google that blend to know what kind of cépages I am referring to. Sommeliers and wine shop owners do not have the same Knowledge. I am not particularly impressed with the majority of the statements made in this video. wine enthusiasts please trust and enrich your wine knowledge and try so many different wines with your foods. also remember to train your nose. it all starts with the nose. enjoy your wood and wines

Seriously, I've just commited to go four weeks without any alcohol, and you've decided to put THIS up NOW?!
At 3:40, you confirm the subjectivity of wine tasting..."I can't tell you that you don't taste what you taste..." I like that
Agree! :-)
Jesus!! I was just looking for wine videos and mr morgan jr surprised me.
Love you on LWC

I noticed how the flavors of merlot and pizza work in harmony.
I just had that pair 😋
Short, sweet & to the point. Thank you so much
loving white wine. Strong olive flavor in white wine which I absolutely love

Nicely done! And I second the "drink what you like no matter what anyone may think"!
He forgot the first rule of pairing: what grows together, goes together.
So so true! The golden rule of pairing. If it is from the same country - it probably tastes amazing together. Bravo!
Can you elaborate please
@@SoumikAswad grapes
@Valkes awesome comment!
@@WineScribble This makes no logical sense. Just because 2 foods come from the same country, they'll taste amazing together? What a load of bull.
Was that a fart at 2:00?
David Dobreski lol
Lol
Yes it was. I'm really sorry about that. I had killer bean dip last night.
Yeah. Sorry.
😁
Great video. I'm adding it to my "Learn About Wine" playlist on my channel. Cheers!

A classic pairing, and may I suggest Twinkies with a 1937 Chateau D'Yquem

This was informative. The only thing I knew about wine pairing was from James Bond, Red wine + Fish= KGB. Ha.
Red wine can be really great with fish, but it depends on the type of fish, how its prepared and the sauce/garnish.
Ha! Amazing! It has been so long since I watched From Russia with Love. Such a great fight on the train. Thanks for the reminder!
:-) :-) :-)
simple but great explanation, very valuable video!
You had a lot of great, easy tips in here...cool video !

In my opinion i think that "hard"-alcoholic drinks (like Wodka,Whiskey or even Scotch) go very well with good seasoned meat...what do you guys think?
+Tim Bruder Whiskey has always gone great with steak for me. Whiskey goes pretty pretty good with most things in my opinion.
+Tim Bruder Wodka goes well with anything fatty or sour. This is how Russians pair it
+Islam Benfifi agreed :D i love VodkaCola to my Steak or just when im relexing :)
+Tim Bruder Whisky and steak definitely go together
Great content! Thank you ☺️
My favorite is 1965 Port Shmonkey.
Thank you very much mister.👌

This was a great video. Please have guests more often! Very informative.
what to pair for rice wine?
What wine is good with cooked crab?
White wine, or a dry sherry pairs well with crustaceans.
Wait Gerald B?
Syrah with a steak is a good pairing.
isn't that Gerald from Louder With Crowder?
Omg! How did I not notice?
Yeah, pairing is good n' all, but what wine pairs with pears?
Try a bottle of Farnese Colline Teramane with anything (preferrably something you've killed with your own hands), doesn't get manlier.
steak+malbec=heaven
Totally agree. But don't forget steak and Chianti - such a beautiful combination!
Or maybe a red wine like Cabernet or something dry like a vermouth.
That guy's awesome.
