    I worked at a real meat market for years and I went there today and had my favorite meat cutter pick me on a beautiful slab of st. Louis ribs because I have been craving them for days! My husband doesn't eat much pork so they are all mine! I haven't made them in my ninja yet so I wanted a great recipe! You never disappoint! I want to make them tonight but I'm gonna put your rub on tonight and make tomorrow! So it gets a good dry marinade process! I actually have every thing you use to make it all! So excited! Made the ribs for The 4th of July. Ribs were marinating in the seasonings overnight!
    This Raspberry Glaze is AWESOME! Only thing I did extra was brushed on a tiny amount of Dale’s Liquid Seasoning to the ribs BEFORE I pressure cooked them. Everything else I did according to the recipe. I could easily see how this sauce could work just as wonderful on chicken, steaks, and lots more-even BACON!

      @@davemarrione5605 Thanks for the update! I thought the 18 minutes was a tad overcooked for "perfectly" cooked ribs, so I guessed 15 minutes would be perfect. I let my time at 18 minutes because most people like them more done than not. Glad to hear they turned out!

    Home run, Louise! I did tweak a teeny bit, first to lower the carbs, replaced the 1/4C white sugar with 4T Splenda + 2T Splenda Brown Sugar in the rub and replaced the 1/3C brown sugar in the glaze with 3T Splenda Brown Sugar, replaced the raspberry jam with my own "no sugar-added" blackberry jam, added 1T Worchestershire Sauce and about 3-4T of my homemade "regular" (tomato-based) BBQ sauce in the glaze to give just a hint of "traditional" BBQ taste. Quote from my husband, as he was licking his fingers, "Sweety, these are the best ribs I've had, I think in my whole life!" I know your post of this recipe is from a couple of years ago, but this is the first time I've tried it and the ribs were amazing! BTW, one of my cousins bought a Ninja about a year ago and never used it...I went to visit her last week and we made your Bean & Ham Soup in her "new" Ninja Foodi...also, BIG HIT! She's a Ninja Foodi convert! Thanks so much!

    Hey again! Wanted to share a FYI with ya. I know you used a 6.5 NF when you did these ribs a few months back and that you have since obtained an 8 qt size. I have the 8qt too and used it for the ribs and i didn't have the same challenges u did using the 6.5 qt. They stood up on the sides easily and weren't crowded like what u experienced with the 6.5 qt size. You have probably figured that out by now on your own anyway but for your viewers sake i wanted to add this note.

    Those look really good! The reason the one rack curled is due to the "silver skin" membrane being left on, you are correct in that. It's the same reason that lamb chops will curl or "cup" when grilling unless the membrane is removed or scored. The membrane shrinks and pulls everything with it. If you had scored the membrane on that rack, it wouldn't have curled up. But it's best to remove it anyway.

      Thanks! I actually don't like the flavor of liquid smoke in sauces, but I thought I'd give it a try in the water. Some have brushed it directly on the ribs and say that works. I don't teach or show people to boil the water first because when recipes are being tested, the time to pressure is factored in to the total cook time. In this instance, it wouldn't make a difference, but there are some recipes that would be undercooked if you started with boiling water. I know a lot of people do it though.

    You may be able to put a little bit of the liquid smoke into your sauce to get that smoky flavor

    I know this is an old video, but it caught my eye. I made the glaze yesterday (cherry because I had cherry jam!), rubbed the ribs yesterday (and you will cringe, but I never used a rub on ribs previously) ... PC and Air Fryed tonight and managed to also make some fries along with - YUM! I will try your blueberry glaze also. I love fruit sauce/glaze on seared salmon as well as other meats. And I guess that I have been living under a rock ... I've had an instant pot for over 6 years and a separate air fryer and even an IP AF lid but somehow missed the technique of combining both along with steam. I upgraded to an IP Ultimate Pro Crisp One lid several weeks ago after reading in one of my favorite cozy mystery series ... main character cooked in a "multi-function cooker" several meals. Being an avid scratch cook and sourdough baker, I went looking. So, now catching up and binge watching your channel :) ❤❤ ***Edit The options are great and particularly useful in summer heat ... make almost anything and far less heat in the kitchen!

    Oh YUMMM!!! Made these today for New Year's brunch. I did not have Raspberry jam, but used blackberry jam instead. The end result is incredibly good. I used to pay 30 dollars a rack from a local butcher who smokes meats on the weekend. Now I can make them even better, and any time I want. Thank you for this fabulous recipe. P.S. the liquid smoke smelled good while they cooked, but the flavor did not come through in the meat. Just like you said. Oh well, I'll just use a cup of other liquid next time.

  • @teeree55

    That looks sooooo good! Can you just sprinkle the liquid smoke right on the meat before the rub?

    last time I made ribs my dad was upset I didn't keep the membrane because he wanted to give it to my sisters dog when he comes over on the weekends. I don't think the dog would have liked it.

    Hi Louise, just watched this video. Man, they sure looked good. Can you explain the 18 minutes in the pressure cooker. What happened at the 10 minute mark, you seemed to stop cooking it then, or what did you do? I rewatched it, but didn’t see what you did with the vent. I haven’t tried the natural vent to perhaps that’s what you did? Not sure. That part went over my head, thanks again. You’re so pleasant to listen to. Thank you. Great recipe.

      @TheSaltedPepper  3 года назад +1

      You pressure cook for 18 minutes and then let the pot natural release for 10 minutes which means you don't do anything for 10 minutes. This cools the pot down a little so you don't suck the moisture from the pot. It gives the steam time to turn back into liquid and keeps moisture from being sucked out of meat. Here is the written recipe if that helps: thesaltedpepper.com/ninja-foodi-ribs/

      @@TheSaltedPepper thanks Louise. I just watched it again and I see what you mean. I made them for dinner tonight, following the book recipe and it said to let the steam out right away, but next time, I’ll do the natural for 10 minutes and then release. Thanks again, they sure look delicious.

    Hi Louise, I haven't bought my Ninja Foodi yet, I have a 3 quart instant pot. Will I be able to do half a rack of ribs at a time in my Instant Pot? Your ribs looked so freaking delicious that my mouth watered lol. Thank you so much, Louise for all of your amazing recipes!🥰

    Yup, Yuppers, absolutely yes. I’ll be trying this recipe. Only thing, I like smoked food after it’s cooked but the liquid smoke, the smell makes me nauseous. What can I use to replace that.
    The sensitive to liquid smoke, it’s a funny story and has been that way for 24 years, ever since my first pregnancy. 😁🤣

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  5 лет назад

      Kelly Bordwine just skip it and use water. To be honest, I think I get more smoke flavor from the smoked paprika in the run than the liquid smoke

    We have huge raspberry bushes and get tons of raspberries every year. I wonder how hard it is to remove the seeds. I have made jam before but with the seeds. I will have to check into that. Would love to be able to use them for this recipe.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  5 лет назад

      I used to do it that way. Simmer them in some sugar like you would to make jam. Use a fine mesh strainer like this one: (affiliate link) amzn.to/2I4b1yb to strain the seeds. You can control the amount of sugar that way too.
