Man, Had it on the rolling parts dept. If that happened here where I live they would have said, We'll have to special delivery the board. Should be here in 2 or 3 business days. Great video Steven!
@@jdthetrashman "Tell me you've never been in field service, without telling me." You can put a brand new box on a metal rack shelf in a van or truck, and in less than 3 weeks it's gonna look like those boxes. If he knows what he needs and carries it on his truck, it's gonna get beat up and that why they stay in the boxes that take up premium space in a service truck.
Nice old spartan work van, we have those for our heavy maintenance service trucks and dodge 5500 cab and chassis with fiberglass utility boxes, for general and light duty service
Love videos and Miss Molly. I use a power screwdriver, it's small but does a great job. The ones with a torque on it really work. Saves time and nuckles. Thanks Steve for sharing.
Those control modules are always contentious. Mark every connection. Great video. Thanks for the post. That's one cute dog you have there. How in the world would you ever discipline her?
Early troubleshooting steps could have lead to a callback if it was an intermittent issue. Best to do all possible electrical tests before touching service switch.
In the UK none OEM parts are forbidden you have to change like for like. I noticed you didn't carry out lockout tests it lit but will it shut down safely?
My Weil-McLain CGA-4 installation manual says boiler needs a minimum of 18 inches clearance from front of boiler to wall. Is that enough space to do the kind of repair you just did?
I’m just getting back to watching your videos which are very good but I’m wondering what ever became of your chickens and their run you built for them?
hey guys. what causes a fuel oil burner to come on and off? the thermostat calls for heat but the unit only runs for about 8 minutes and the house temp just colder like there is no heat any ideas? Thank you so much....
You need more information, is there any signs of water stains on the floor? Is the pressure relief valve weeping? If water is getting out, air is getting in. You could have air bound zones. I also agree with the circular pump and/or zone valve.
Thank you all for your replies! The problem was a zone valve that I accidentally hit and got closed while I was changing the expansion tank a day before . I reopened it and the boiler is working just fine.
very rare to see a draft inducer on a boiler. A bad control but she got heat now. say Houston we have ignition when you install a new furnace or boiler. as today is 50 years after the Apollo 12 mission ended.
One day when my capitol one is paid off I'm going to buy you a badass nitecore head lamp. Also my company requires that I watch your videos, I'm in Penn. and everything here is oil :(.
I'm a new construction plumber but thinking on making the switch to heating it looks really interesting and there is something about firing up things it's pretty cool. Does anyone recommend making the switch?. I do have my gas ticket and I can work on up to 400,000 btus in Canada
Great call! Paid the bill @ petco for miss molly clothes! Awesome video and explaining the problem! Thx Steve Bryan Tyler Refrigeration. Ps. Can you send me one of your shes a leaker momma hoodies..
That collar on Miss Mollie looks Much Too Big. I think a SMALLER collar would be more to her liking. Just a thought. **** Good Video ****** Thanks Steve.
Possibly a 10 cent capacitor failed in the module - not turning on relay to power up the HSI It'd be rare to find an antique like that in the uk nowadays !
That layout was clean and that basement was neat and tidy. Steve has finally arrived at the Taj Mahal!
Who says that the basement of the Taj Mahal is not a mess

@Onyx Tanner You are welcome :)
Miss Molly's Supply House saves the day once again.

Clean looking boiler compared to your usual.
I love how the spares in your truck always look like they've been around the world and back for the past 20 years.
timfischer cause he truck is filthy and seems very disorganized
@@jdthetrashman And yet he can find what he needs without to much fuss.......

my phone is full of pics of boards...helpful tool when changing boards.

Hey Steven enjoy watching you and molly going down the road. Videos are awesome !
Troubleshooting on a raw rainy Sunday sucks. Nice work Steve. Nice u had that control board in the truck!
You electrical testing knowledge is legendary
Sunday , double time and a half. When all else fails, read the instructions. That was what my grandpa used to say. Good job!
Love videos and Miss Molly. I use a power screwdriver, it's small but does a great job. The ones with a torque on it really work. Saves time and nuckles. Thanks Steve for sharing.
I enjoy watching you troubleshoot, I'm right there with you.
Good video. My first thought would have been igniter or vacuum switch. Great diagnosis!

This will pay for Steven's prime rib dinner on Turkey day with a side of shrimp and a steak for miss molly

When I changed the controller on my furnace I not only took notes but I took more than a few pictures with my cell phone.
Great vids, really interesting watching your faulty finding. Gas boilers in the US seem so basic compared to Europe.
She's firing now mama!
We charge 170 per hour on sundays and people freak out. We reminded them its Sunday we are not open
That’s cheap for a weekend call
If I have no heat $170/hr is better than NOT available.
Any after hours service we charge a minimum of 365
Damn. I'm in the wrong business!
In the UK none OEM parts are forbidden you have to change like for like. I noticed you didn't carry out lockout tests it lit but will it shut down safely?
Steve I noticed Molly rolls her sleeves up like I do on my t-shirts she is definitely cool lol. Great job on the boiler. Peace brother and Molly
I've used valuetesters they are good,
I bought my testo 557 there.
I also like hvacparts warehouse.
Happy Holiday Steven...👍🌺
Good vid, your boilers are very different to the ones here in the UK !!
I don't think they have heard of condensing boilers, they 20yrs behind.
i guess it's nice to find a clean house.. nice job as always...
Normally the Blinking Red Light means start troubleshooting form the box either reset button turns it green or start test from the box
My Weil-McLain CGA-4 installation manual says boiler needs a minimum of 18 inches clearance from front of boiler to wall. Is that enough space to do the kind of repair you just did?
treke08 it depends on if you like frustratingly tight working spaces.
Great ✌️ job
Put your Amp Clamp around wires of ignitor...they pull 1mA or less and it's bad (2-3.0 new...)
How many screws to mount the board? 1, really?
Miss Molly the big star of the show great video Steve
Steve, nice diagnosis and fix!
I’m just getting back to watching your videos which are very good but I’m wondering what ever became of your chickens and their run you built for them?
Excellent Troubleshooting video
Miss Molly, ohm the hot surface igniter. If you have OL (openline) the igniter is garlic toast.
sometimes, if there's a crack in the HS igniter it will open when it heats up, ohming the part when it's cold may show resistance.

Sometimes the circulator will wear out and not push much water even though it’s running, or a zone valve is not opening enough.
Does the boiler get to its cutoff temperature? then shuts off? if so circulator or zone valve keeping water from moving through radiators.
You need more information, is there any signs of water stains on the floor? Is the pressure relief valve weeping? If water is getting out, air is getting in. You could have air bound zones. I also agree with the circular pump and/or zone valve.
I agree with the other comments, also check the pressure, is it around 15 to 20 lbs? Is the boiler up to temp?
Thank you all for your replies! The problem was a zone valve that I accidentally hit and got closed while I was changing the expansion tank a day before . I reopened it and the boiler is working just fine.
Great job and great video
Great troubleshooting Steven!
I can say i don't miss service on weekends or late night's

tom h International V6
tom h the smaller v6 brother to the international navistar VT365 right? I don’t remember the model number of it
Erik J. Lol I found it ... VT275 is basically a VT365 with two cylinders removed
Amazing. Keep up the good work, Steve!
That flame sensor is the biggest piece of shit they ever come up with.
the place looked clean......at least👍
That has to be a low nox boiler? There was a neighbor who had one on a pool and it was noisy
How much $ did that cost the home owner?
