When I was growing up in Jamaica, I rode on everything to high school: Big bus, minivan, cars, dump truck, cane truck. We were in the back of truck with cooking gas cylinders coming from school and the driver was going so fast one of cylinders slammed into the side of the truck and broke the top off, releasing gas everywhere. All the men managed to “hop off” the driving truck, but we were kids so we huddled down in a corner of the truck. Eventually the truck stopped and they removed the cylinder from the truck. These days, I can’t ride minibus and taxis anymore. It’s my own private transport and Knutsford Express for me. Me put in mi time. One thing though, when I am back in Jamaica and driving my car, I don’t leave anyone on the road. Anyone stop me for a drive, I pick them up.

Thanks again Irina for putting passion into what you do.

Lol!! Route taxis are called dollar vans in Brooklyn NY. Love it! Great video as usual 👌 🥰
This is great! I don’t know if you will, but are you be able to also include the GBP rates too. As a lot of British people watch you videos and wish travel to jamaica.
Funny that many of our fellow Jamaican wouldn't even bother to stop and give them a lift. I have seen it. But there's always a few good ones out there.
Another well put together video...thank you.
Bigup yrself irie with interested vlog wow👌🏿,irie thks again Jamaican made there own Rules something 🤷♂️.... thks irie bless up yrself 🙏🏿
It would be interesting to hear your hubby's take on this whole experience. He seems so calm.👊🏿💪🏿💕 Keep the love for Jamaican coming. You are the best!
Hi Irie, good day, just viewing this vlog, it is very informative, did not know the difference between the Taxis and the Route of travel. Fancy that, it took you travelling all the way from Ukraine to Jamaica to teach us about Route Taxis. Keep up the good work.
Derrick did a great job explaining the system! Thank you.
Great video Irina. That blue mountain trip is on my to do list. I can’t wait to visit next year. I have so many things that I have not done(in Jamaica) and so many places to visit. Keep the videos coming. I love them.
Interesting, even though I already knew a lot of this, you gave thorough information for those who are not aware.
Love your videos!!! As a Jamaican overseas, I migrated over 30 years ago and even I have visited a few times over years, I often stay at the resorts, however watching your videos have really enlightened me, and more so since I’ve been thinking of returning home. 🙏🇯🇲
Lady you are a real asset to Jamaica. And I have a feeling this is only the beginning of the work you’ll do ☺️
Knutsford is the best way to get from city to city, airport to airport. Cheap, safe, comfortable, clean, and air conditioned buses.👍👍👍👍Much less expensive than any taxis. But make your reservation in advance. They fill up fast at certain times.
Hi Irina
i always watching your videos. I want to have idea coz I'm planning to visit my jamaican boyfriend next year. and planning to live in Jamaica on my 2nd visit. Hope to meet you next year..❤
Irina, this video was amazing. I am Jamaican by heritage and from London and I learned a lot from you and Derek. I am making the trip to JA this week and this has filled me with confidence.

You never mentioned about the dispatch taxis where you can get your own Taxi for example on-time taxi radio dispatched just call them and they will come and pick you up mainly in Kingston and Montego Bay
nice video, i'm from kingston but now reside in montego bay love your videos
Wow I actually enjoyed this video, it was so informative, I did not think A video about transportation in beautiful Jamaica would’ve caught my interest that much 😂 this was such a cool video
Thank you so much! Glad you liked it! Many people didn't give it a try, thinking it would be boring I guess! I should rename it, hmmm 🤔😅
Thank you. Very informative.
Thank you to ALL taxi and bus drivers! be safe.
Another great informative video Irina, thank you.
Been to JA so many times - but the many methods of transport have always mystified me (always rent a car since have kids), despite my JA husband who used to run taxi . You've outlined the systems and options so clearly - I really appreciate this one!
Excellent ty for ur information born Jamaican living in USA will check this out nxt visit u are such a wonderful lady
So informative; thank you.
Interesting! I always thought the way the driver said it was the American way of saying it. Coz I pronounce route identical to root.
Very informative! Thank you!

Another great video. Great information. Well done.
Really informative!
I born here but you have more knowledge than me who born here, love your program it different from hill&gully ride
Great episode 👏
Valuable knowledge.
That is really helping. It is not easy to understand which and how? Here one can really understand like a local. Knutsford is a very comfortable and a modern Bus line. But for the short distances and all day rides it was confusing to me, too. Plus I want to travel like locals, which I can do now. I understood the main things to know and it makes me feel much more comfortable, now that I know how I can move around far or distant destinations. Very usefull information, well structured! You juat know cause you did it yourselve.Great job again, Irie !
GREAT (DETAILED AND ACCURATE) AS USUAL.
Very informative video, Irie. Thank you. One love 💖
