Set amidst dense green foliage, Bizarre is a beautiful residential refuge amidst the landscaped site in Kochi, Kerala.
McTerra Architects interpret the traditional aesthetics in a contemporary fashion for this 65,340 sq. ft. site. The sloping roofs, courtyards, and earthy palette gives this home a modern vibe to the regional architecture.
Principal architect Collin Jose Thomas narrates the design journey of this beautiful house in Kerala.

The best Kerala home I've ever seen in my life..loved the spacing, light, architecture and its blend into the greenery around!
Among all the facades and architectures featured here, I rate this one as the best. Simple yet stylist. Brilliant.
This home is perfect. Architecture, interior, landscape, courtyards, evrything is amazing.
But I also feel that People should start thinking about rain water harvesting, solar panels and use of Eco friendly materials when building their new homes.
Only bizarre thing about this is, choice of name for it 😀

One of the best designed Kerala houses I have ever seen. Exterior to Interior everything done tastefully and elegantly.. except for the name which makes every other contemporary houses in Kerala bizarre looking..
You should name this "Visual Bliss" coz thats what this is.. The Colour Combination, the Spatial Placement and the whole ambience of the spaces is so soothing.

One strong criticism - just because you happen to be in the middle of rubber plantation - please plant more trees and NOT palm trees ...india has beautiful variety of trees to use them ....otherwise a lovely home

Amazing architecture....simply brilliant... seriously fabulous workmanship on display.....falling short of adjectives actually.....the only small change i wudve made or preferred is the pool being placed in the private zones behind rather than facing the public spaces or driveway. Otherwise everything else was bang on perfect. Hats off to the design team....way to go 👍🏼

I would have loved to see some vegetation brought in which would break the volumetric mass and help soften the sharp lines produced by the triangular structure.

Well there are a lot of tropical houses around the Kerala ..
Has anyone noticed most of the beautiful and unique designs are usually from Kerala or Gujrat?
Its because of the space brother ..beautiful and very good houses can be seen on every corners of our country ..
But don't expect everyone to be be just beautiful ..space management is also a key ..when you have space ,any designs can be incorporated to any plot ..but size , layout of the soil and how to over come the terrain are the aspects ..
If visited north eastern states the difficutly to build houses in mountains require a architecture theta best suited for the terrain..and space and resources of the places that are available are used there to build homes there ..there also you can find many great homes ..
See in Kerala it's 6 a mid tropical climate , and the house are best suited with a standing structures rather than a flat roof exposed surface ewhoch can attract more dampness and leak issues if some flat ..( maintence are more ).like wise each place has its own advantages and disadvantages. .
Just think if the same plot was available in Mumbai city ..how much crore it would be than this property 🙄.. and in a vey congested place like Mumbai , this much big space will rather be used to construct multiple big storied flats ..and these much greenary won't be there that makes the house more livable .. .
Be happy of you have a small house on earth ..because there are so many people put there who don't eve have a land or house to them.
@@emilv.george9985 but don't forget that kerala is one of the state with high population density appox.>800 ppl/sq.km. I think it's more the matter of perspective of how we look into the different sections of society...
