Thank you for your words. Too late for me at 81. there are many unkind people in this world, often spotting unsuspecting old fashioned people who were brought up with manners they found just Handy to step on.

You can be nice but you gotta set boundaries say no when necessary & make the positive adjustments to deal with toxic people 🙏🏽

I thoroughly enjoyed Chris Voss's Never Split the Difference, excellent recommendation. Good advice, Kristen. Thanks.

Ooh rah! Good stuff. I made a career change (educator/administrator to clinical social worker). So I went from managing a team of 26 educators and multiple programs serving over 10,000 students and training teachers in 3 states… to starting at the bottom again at age 45. I thought I could use my talents to serve even more. Well I went from leadership to being bullied by a manager with a cluster B personality disorder. I bet my family’s livelihood on this masters degree and new job so I felt stuck and unable to be assertive as I normally had been… like I learned as a leader in the Marines. It was terrible. Finally coming out of it. These tools are useful. Wish I started watching these videos earlier! Had to figure out so much on my own. I had never worked in a snake pit before and that says a lot considering I was in the military. At least there was a code of honor there. Civilians don’t have the same code as a group. Individuals can, but the community does not.

For your information workers are not 'subordinates' but assets. The term with sub implies inferiority, Being an asset who has been in management meetings, I laugh at some of the ignorance and BS spoken.
