Yes , as an actor, Austin did not rely on intuition only..he observed and studied hard to find the essence, spirituality and humanity of Elvis..that makes him such an outstanding performer. Kudos to Austin Butler !
I think your comment explains why Austin had such success in the role. It explains why I had such a big reaction to the movie from first viewing. You just know thst elvis had this same type of shyness but great big talent. Someone said some actors really do have the "it" factor. Most actors don't have that, they just act well.tom Hanks doesn't have that, but Brad Pitt does and Matthew McConaughey. Maybe Leo. They can be a success on just that! In most cases they really can act. Troy Donahue had the it factor in spades but his acting was mediocre. He didn't last. Hopefully Austin can last a long time like Leo. Just don't get married to a celeb.
Austin has a massive talent, his ability to transmit emotions with his eyes, with a subtle expression, is amazing, he is one of a kind, such a rare gem. I truly hope the academy does the right thing and give Austin his more than deserved Oscar.
Did yu know that CM and the cinematography team noticed how Austin could affect people with his gaze? So they decided to shine a small light in his eyes during certain scenes to make them sparkle since his gaze was disarming anyway. One scene where elvis is sitting with Priscilla and baby Lisa, he's looking at the camera and they shine a light in his eyes and they pop up real blue. Elvis had ice blue eyes not sky blue. Elvis eyes would change tho with different shirts. So in his movies his eye color could be hazel or real blue. My grandsons eyes can change from green to blue.
@@lifeissweet9826 I'm not talking about his eyes been sparkly, I'm talking about the deep emotions he transmits, like for instance the pain in his eyes when he looks up during unchained melody, the anger and fear while he is in the floor after fainting; the deep frustration, disappointment, pain, rage when his dad tells him they're broke, or the pain, disappoinment, anger, confusion and surrender when he is talking with Tom parker when he comes out of the elevator, just to name a few, all these mix of emotions at the same time is uncanny.

Austin has been in the show business for so long but before Elvis, he seemed to have low self confidence which didn't help him to shine much. But Elvis movie changed him in the good way, he is still shy but with more confidence, still humble but proud of his work. These make him more attractive and lovable. Baz has got good eyes for casting him and I believe that Baz also helps bring out the in him. 🥰
