I love this song so much. One of the best songs of the era from any band, anywhere. I remember being 17 in '84 and we'd go to the pub at lunchtime from Trade School in Melbourne and get pissed up and play this on the jukebox. They deserved to have so much more success. A first class album too. I have a Playlist called 80's Hits Forgotten/Overlooked that gets 1K views a day. This song is the first (223 songs). I'm replacing the existing copy with this official version. It should lift the views way up. Let's see. It's 11K views today, 13 August '21 after being online for 3.5 years. Hopefully people internationally will appreciate the genius that is the Kids.
Was such a great group and such great songs thank goodness for you tube .. looking back at the greatest music of the 80s wow sooo great .. I was born 1965 ..
Oh was he? Cool. I grew up in Shepparton. Is he still there or was this back in the day? The main shop then was Lyric Music. I bought Shine there on vinyl, which I still have.
@@apvgroup5i Oh cool. That's great. Thanks for the update. Haven't been shopping in Shep for years. Have to get back there sometime. Set my first book there though. Bottomless River, based on the Goulburn. Still have family there.
@@AJLangford still a nice walk along the rivers that go through town. The good Old Broken river and Goulburn River join just behind the lake area all been sealed for walkers and riders. It's really nice to clear the head and get amongst the bush.
Damn this is soooo good.. music, video an' all... love it!! I will constantly take this simplistic world than the current complex one.. faults and all....Its not me wanting a time machine to take me back but one for my kids...
So many great ANZAC (Aussie and NZ) tracks - great job As an Aussie, I'm sick of so many 80s playlists being dominated by rap, R&B and country songs that never made it into the Aria charts.
Great melody and killer instrumental work. The drumming is really tasteful and effective, the bass lays down such a tasty groove, the vocal line is super memorable and situated perfectly over the chord progression, and the guitar is just stellar the way it floats over top of everything infusing the piece with an effervescent energy. What a beauty!
80’s Aussie bands often remind me of a parallel reality where America was destroyed during the Cuban missile crisis and you were all left to carry some kind of culture

@@brendanbarnes3404 Cool. Hey maybe you can answer this? Is that the City Baths in Melbourne (swimming pool scene)? Its looks like the City Baths I used to swim there as a kid, brought back a lot of memories. We went swimming so much we got to know the manager and he let us up on the roof balcony to watch the Moomba Parade! Back when Moomba was a big deal and the streets were packed. Good times.
Here lm back listening 👂 too this great band great song brings me back too the 80s that I will always remember well done too kids in the kitchen 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I dont remember this one and if it was released in the UK it didnt get much air time. I love its 80s sound and I can tell exactly why it has many positive reviews.

Story of my life...
2024 at the age of 30. This is everything I've been searching for. The music that's not on the radio. But in reality. If this makes sense.
Yep.. should be on the radio along with other classics ... putting more Bowie and OMD on too.. Icehouse
Perfect sense!
48, I was 8 years old when this come out and grew up in Australia. Remember this on countdown and the radio. How awesome.
@@peterh1282 Same here! Those are some great memories.👍
Welcome
As a 53 yo old Aussie I feel blessed to have grown up with these bands. But let’s spare a thought for how gorgeous Scott Carne was! ❤❤❤
1:05 Melbourne Central when it was originally called "Museum Station" before the shopping centre was built on top of it
It's the shot tower, originally used for producing shot. Heritage listed.
Pool scene looks like the old city baths, that still exists, 125 years old.
Love Kids In The Kitchen. Scott Carne looking very handsome, beautiful voice ❤
Ahhh the good old days. Best time the 80-90s never to be like that ever again
Every era has its own sound, but the 80's were above all.
Spot On 😍

Lol that was your favourite time. There's nothing can beat the 70s
