Can someone please correct me, I've seen the show twice on stage and I feel like I'm missing something. Once Glenda and Elphaba figure out that the wizard is in fact a fascist trying to get rid of all talking animals, Elphaba decides to fight him, but Glynda decides to stay and support the regime in return for kareer opportunities. She becomes the head of propaganda arm of the government, brainwashes everyone into being afraid of the wicked witch. Glynda is part of the irredeemable villains of the story, together with the wizard and tge msgic teacher, am I wrong?
Glinda doesn’t support it. At the end of Wicked she throws Morrible and the Wizard in jail. She’s pretty much forced to because they could turn on her like they did Elphaba. That’s where a lot of Glinda’s eternal conflict resides in the second act. She knows her best friend is innocent but for the sake of Oz she has to pretend and go along with the propaganda.
