Hey bro you forgot to mention that they donate 10 meals for every pair of sunglasses they sell. Which is the reason why I bought two. But other then that nice video
I'm not sure if they were doing that when I got my first pair.. At least I didn't notice it advertised. But yeah, another great reason to pick up a pair! Thinking about making an update video as there have been some changes in the design as well since my first pair.
if i wanted to donate i'd do it myself. For non glass lenses these should be 20-30 bucks but glad to see the 50% markup is going to a good cause. A better example of donation done right is TOM shoe's for the quality and price along with donation seems right on point without scalping the consumer. Maybe he didnt mention it for a reason lol
I noticed after getting my first pair that they go on sale quite often. If you're not in a hurry, you can get them for around $22-$25 a pair after tax. Not bad for what you're getting. Great review and amazing audio.
I ended up finding a pair at a local disc golf course. They are every bit as good as my Oakley Latch sunnies that cost 4x as much. I really can't see any reason to throw down the extra money to go with Oakley. Luxottica has succeeded in selling cheap plastic for insane amounts with marketing. It's awesome to not worry so much about potentially losing/scrathing a $150+ item. The lens clarity is solid too.
I bought 2 pairs last year with a matte finish to take to the beach and I found that heat plus suntan lotion destroys the matte finish on the glasses. Contacted shady rays and they replaced them with no hassle. Besides that they’re amazing. I’m curious to try ones with a glossy finish to see if they have the same issue.
I’m very sorry about your subscriber count you did a very good job on this video. I thought for SURE you would have at least 50k with the quality and effort you put into it
Thanks! It's actually a pretty cheap mic running into an old interface. Recording it in audition. The new version of the mic is linked in the description. The trick now is making time to post more often I guess haha 🙃
I just received mine today. I'm disappointed with the frame quality. The plastic feels really light and flexible. Hinges are molded into the plastic on mine, not metal. Very nice shape and style though. They look great on my face. The lenses are not bad either. They're acrylic, however I don't see any distortion at all so that's a huge plus. Id say they're worth it. Especially with a discount code.
Man, what great videos you have. I'm gonna sub bro. Thanks for the review and keep it up. So sad you dont have more subs. I'm planning on getting some for the black Friday week, but I want to see how the size fit is. Thank you. See you next time. 👍🏼
I just got a pair four days ago. I like the looks but the hinges are really tight. Seeing that yours were like that and then got very lose is concerning. But I got these as a back up pair. I have usually have three pairs of sun glasses in my car, if someone needs a pair or mine broke. For $45, i thought I would give them a try. So far, I am happy with my purchase. But my Ray Bans are my main sun glasses.
I have 2 pairs of Oakleys, 1 Ray Ban, 1 AO and 1 Mason and Sons Thunderball glasses. I love them all but i kinda baby them all as well as none were cheap and im sure ill get screwed on the warranty the next time something happens
I love the quality of your video! Just some constructive criticism tho; some more B-roll and background music might help things feel a little faster. Overall it seems great and I forsee a successful future for you. I wish you the best of luck!
I bought the aviator and the quality seems very bad. I left the sunglasses in my car and I think the heat has bowed the arms outwards. I’ve only had them for under 2 weeks and haven’t even worn them much. It feels cheap and I don’t think it’s a stainless steel frame, feels and looks like plastic chrome. Just drop it lightly on a table and you’ll see how flimsy it is and just the sound that it makes when it drops lightly on a table. I’ve emailed them to see if they’re going to replace it.
I hope more people wear their RayBans, Oakleys, Maui Jims, Montblanc, D&G, etc to the local lakes, etc and drop them in the water. I can't resell these Shady Rays for squat ;)
@@GarrettShawley Never thought of filming, but not a bad idea.. someone just needs to lose a gopro ;) Certainly plenty of other stuff like watches, wallets, etc but mostly sunglasses. That's by far the number one thing people lose.
@Big wave Dave Very carefully haha. Have some kind of surface marker on top of you or a dive flag if possible so others know to go around. Unfortunately that is not always possible so I just make sure to keep an eye out on my depth levels and not come up too high. I would try to avoid high traffic areas completely, not worth the risk.
I was watching this thinking damn this guys for his shit down pat with filming and editing then went to smash the like and I don't get how you only have 208 subscribers. Well now 209.
Great review. Was hoping to buy from ShadyRays, but ... just checked "Lost/Broken Replacement Warranty" on ShadyRays website. This is of concern (I live in Canada): "There is a processing fee of CA$24 for each replacement". Not sure what that "fee" includes but that's infinitely a lot more than a "free replacement".
I would say this is mostly true , but companies like Ray Ban do overcharge for what they are because of the brand name. However I've been wearing a pair Randolph Engineering aviators for about 6 months now, and they are definitely worth every penny, especially when on sale. Super clear glass lenses, high quality frames, and made in the U.S. (if that's important to you). Hopefully a review coming soon... if I can find time to shoot it lol.
Just got my first pair and they are overpriced by about $30. I had a pair of fake Wayfarers that I bought a gas station for $10. The hinges on those always stayed nice and tight and the lenses never got scratched over the 3 years I had them (before I lost them.) I couldn't find a decent replacement pair so I thought I would try Shady Rays. The lenses are nice and I like that they are slightly larger than the Wayfarer, but they are remarkably low quality in terms of materials and manufacturing. Pretty disappointed.
My Ray Bans prescription sun glasses broke while driving. The lens fell off. Those were like $500 if I remember right. Total garbage. I'm looking at oakleys or some other brand.
The problem with Shady Rays is that they're essentially charging you the price of three cheap Chinese sunglasses & that's assuming you're going to take advantage of the replacements. Their charging strategy is pretty SHADY considering that they charge you $54 for like a pair & a half & then recuperate the money with $9.98 each time you need a new pair. I don't care what they call that fee wether it's a "processing fee" or "we're actually just charging you for three cheap chances sunglasses fee", subtotal amount equates to three cheap Chinese sunglasses that you could buy at a mall but without having to wait for the replacement or having the big Shady Rays lettering on my sunglasses.
I find their fighting hunger campaign funny. " Through research and talking directly to our fans, we found the cause that gives purpose to our work." Yes, let's end world hunger by exploiting cheap labor in 3rd world countries to make our sunglasses. I'd rather buy a Grip6 belt, made in the USA, people before profits.
