The way this is explained in the video should be reflected in the assembly instructions! Whoever formulated these assembly instructions should be tar and feathered! There’s nothing more frustrating than combating abstruse and arcane directions that purports itself to be easy and simplistic! Thankfully this short assembly video rectified these moiling and onerous directions!
*I like how quiet it is, how well it works and **Fastly.Cool** , This was perfect to help air out a guest room and to use instead of AC when I only want one room kept cool. Works great!*
I found a fan just like this in a dumpster in 2019. It was only a few months old according to the MFG date. I took it home, cleaned it up and still works perfectly as of 2024.
I just wanted to add how exciting it was to be able to put the pole in the right way I was thinking that something was wrong then I looked up Google and found the instructions on how to assemble the POLL into that unit! I was all smiles😅 it's wonderful when a woman can do it all by herself and no man is involved! A WOMAN CAN DO ANYTHING SHE PUTS HER MIND TO❤ THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEO AND THE WOMAN THAT WAS PRESENTING THE VIDEO WAS ALSO A WOMAN ♀️ THANK YOU SO MUCH 👍
Ditto. So frustrating I guess it's just too much for the company to put detailed instructions of how to assemble the freaking pole in to the box. They're probably hoping everybody heads to the RUclips channel so that they can make money just like we did.. This plastic fan better blow in the holy spirit and last 100 years.
Bought the Lasko pedestal fan. Model S18640. Can't believe they would design something where the pedestal pole will not lock into the base unit. This video doesn't show it locking either. You pick up the fan to move it and the pedestal pole comes right out of base. Believe me. I've twisted, pushed and pounded on the pole trying to get it to lock in place. Also, when oscillating, since the pole won't lock in place, fan keeps shifting direction on its own after a few minutes. It won't oscillate the area you want it to. As suggested in comments, I put a couple layers of electrical tape on bottom of pole and inserted it into base. So far, so good.
Its insane that the main fan will not secure to the pole. Its very dangerous for kids if the touch it and also hard to move. You have to move it with 2 hand holding the pole and the fan. The airflow is great seams to be a steady fan there should only be a way to secure the fan to the pole.
I have this issue as well. It seems like it depends from unit to unit. I have 3 of them and one works great and hooks on both ends. One didn't hook in either the base or the fan, and the other only hooks to the base. It's incredibly annoying.
They probably mean both: Fan DOES NOT secure to pole& Fan DOES NOT secure to base. I also have both issues,, although initially the Fan head did stick to the pole, but now will NOT snap back in
The answer to why the pole doesn't lock into the base can be seen by glancing into the base, then glancing at the end of the pole. The base has an arrangement for a locking pole. This can be clearly seen when you look into the hole in the base.. But when you glance at the end of the pole, what is obviously missing is the other half of the locking mechanism which should have been welded into the end of the pole.. No amount of twisting, pounding or otherwise is going to magically make the pole engage the base. It just isn't going to happen. On the other hand, epoxy, RTV, silicon sealant , nasty old black electricians tape will probably do the trick.
My referral from have mets nope, don’t bother I did my research and actually it doesn’t lock in it’s loose it’s for easier oscillating purposes🤷🏽♀️ it’s annoying but it doesn’t wobble or anything and my son love the speed so... kept it
So I cant get the motor piece to sit on the pole bc there is a random screw sticking out from it is it suppose to be there? Bout to just take it back and buy a different brand
Also having this issue. Edit: Nevermind, I actually got it to fit. Despite the instructions saying to twist the pole into the base, that won’t work. You instead have to give it a very forceful push downwards until you feel it click into place securely.
I agree is still not stable it can be knocked down by a child. So I'm assuming to put a piece 🤔 of cloth in stand to make it stable. Just a thought but a product u buy should be built to be stable.
I can’t get the poll locked in the bottom base. Someone help. Every time I pick up my fan the base stay on the floor and I pick up the fan with a poll.
So I just got this one in Walmart. I don't know why people are complaining about the fan being unstable. You just push (not place.. PUSH, as there are grooves that hold it) the bottom leg into the round base and the fit is tight and stable. Anyway, setting 1 is good enough is you're close to it. Setting 4 is like a tornado. Very good fan.
I know I don't understand why there isn't a screw that tightens the base and stem together I pick it up it falls off with a little shake! Needs to be made better
I like that it is relatively quiet for how much air it moves. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxmj9RYGCX25BElHkuWjHec-2_muyUGyCm Was easy to put together. Note: The spindle cap is threaded backwards to keep it from spinning off during use, so remember to turn it the "other way". I also like that the lights, which are quite bright, turn off after a few moments so they do not bother me at night. The remote has to be aimed just right, but does work.
I have Lasko model #S16200. My problem is the pole falls out of its base when I lift the fan in order to move its position in the room. This is not a good design.
My pole dosent stay put in the base there is no twisting to make it stay put ... you just have to put the pole in the base it will still come out HELP!!!! PLZZZ
The pole wouldn't stay in my base either, very annoying, but I fixed it by putting some black electrical tape around the end of the pole, I put 2 layers & had to push it in really hard but now it stays
Now my fan might be made slightly different but I'll explain how I put mine together and it wasn't always so perfect that's why I came here. The top part of the metal pole does not go through the bottom pole because there is a piece of plastic with threads on top of the bottom pole. What I did was put the nut through the top part of the top pole until it goes to the flared part. I placed the fan on the top part and then as careful as I could I place the top metal bar on the bottom metal bar and screwed that down with the nut as good as I could. You have to really screw that nut down really good to get it to hold and I even thought about using some channel locks to tighten it a little. Now the fan facing was popping off sometimes or wouldn't stay adhered to the fan once it clicked in so to Macgyver this I used cable ties around the face of the fan to hold that into place.
The pole wouldn't stay in my base either, very annoying, but I fixed it by putting some black electrical tape around the end of the pole, I put 2 layers & had to push it in really hard but now it stays
After finally figuring out the pole and forgetting to put the plastic screw on I finally got this put together. I don't have any issues like other people with a wobbly pole or with it not tightening. The pole on mine snapped securely into the base. I have to say I am not a fan of all of this plastic stuff but the fan does work great and has lots of power! I have it a good distance in my living from my kitchen table, turned it up to 3 and it blew all of the paper off of it! I plan on buying a second one for my bedroom.
All my pedestal fans get hot after shutting them off no matter if new or what brand or even just running for a 20 minutes. I was wondering if that's normal.
My tightening mechanism does not tighten. It just spins. Tried turning right and even turning left. The smaller pole simply falls to the bottom. Not pleased!
Same problem with the base when I want to put it in a different location fan comes with and the base stays lol ugh anyone know what they are doing about it.
So I have a simple question I bought a new fan and my child Mother plug it into wrong voltage I want to know if I have to just change the fuse for it to start working again
now if only you could do a video on how to snap on the front cage, since it no longer has any sort of snaps, slots, or guiders and the instructions it really do not tell you how or which way to snap the damn thing on 😩 better be money back guaranteed !!
They didn't even bother to put the most important part about putting the pole into the other end of the bigger pole in the instructions... come on people. Do better

2 years later... It does... you just have to push harder to lock it in place.
Thank you so much for this video. I was frustrated because my fan would not stand in a good position but i watched this and I feel better.
I've been fooling with this pole for 30 minutes... thank Goodness for RUclips 😊
Same 😂😂😂🤦♀️
😂same here 😅

Thanks for the detailed explanation on the poles! I was so stuck with them

Do you mean the pole to the base?
I think he meant fan to the pole.

Yeah, their fans suck. I'll never buy another one.

I need your video. The pole doesn't snap into base.
Pole won't secure to the base completely. It does not want to lock into place. What are we doing wrong?
I’m calling cuz this fan sucks!!!
When in doubt, force it
Darth Acrimonious lol
Mine is the same.. thinking of returning..
My referral from have mets nope, don’t bother I did my research and actually it doesn’t lock in it’s loose it’s for easier oscillating purposes🤷🏽♀️ it’s annoying but it doesn’t wobble or anything and my son love the speed so... kept it
Thanks this was so helpful. The instructions did not tell me how to do this!
00:58 omg i feel so stupid. I was attaching it backwards.😊
Edit: Easy set up! But my Stand falls down and the plastic nut doesnt do anything.
So I cant get the motor piece to sit on the pole bc there is a random screw sticking out from it is it suppose to be there? Bout to just take it back and buy a different brand
Wish I’d read these comments before I purchased it this fan is unstable its a damn weeble wobble!!
Dang pole won't stay in the base too. I'm about to find a new use for my duct tape.
@@mariesims351 it’s a damn good fan too just poorly designed
I would be nice if the pole actually stayed in the bottom base. When you pick the fan up it just comes out and the weight of the fan falls
YES!! This completely ruined the fan for me
Same! There should be something to hold them together
Also having this issue.
Edit: Nevermind, I actually got it to fit. Despite the instructions saying to twist the pole into the base, that won’t work. You instead have to give it a very forceful push downwards until you feel it click into place securely.
@@CrispyPrism333 do you have to freaking jump on the dang thing. I can't get it to snap into place.
@@paints4us^ pretty much, push in hard. Fit for me, when i initially didnt think it did. You'll hear and feel it "lock in".
When I tighten the plastic nut the pole still slides back down even when locked. It wont hold up the fan motor.

Thank the Lord for this video..I was about to return this to Walmart because I couldn't figure out why the pole wouldn't attach to the fan.
Just assembled it today May 9,2018 Wednesday for St.Louis weather, will blog much later to grade on quality and function.
@Isabella Bender 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Isabella Bender no problems so far and its June 5,2020.👍

It is not stable. I placed from very in the groove it is not stable
I like my fan. But makes a rattling noise.
lmaoooo!!!! i just got it today i havent even plugged it up yet
And when you try to move it around all the pieces come apart!
Take heart. The fan will break down soon anyway and you'll be rid of it.
I know I don't understand why there isn't a screw that tightens the base and stem together I pick it up it falls off with a little shake! Needs to be made better

It isn’t designed to stay. Total downfall
The airflow is good but the fan does not sit securely inside the base. Very frustrating. Does anybody have a work around??
agree
Yes agree
The pole wouldn't stay in my base either, very annoying, but I fixed it by putting some black electrical tape around the end of the pole, I put 2 layers & had to push it in really hard but now it stays

What’s to keep the pole in the base it doesn’t have a mechanical fastener?
So easy glad I watched this before fan is delivered.
Naw the problem is the fan assembly come off of the metal pole anytime I move my fan. How do I get the pole to stay in the fan? 😤😤😤
The pole doesn't go all the way through
Thank you!!! i was so lost

Thank you so much for help
Back in the box, this thing is total junk. It's brand new and wobbles around like a drunk.
The fan part seems wobbly. No way to secure the fan portion to the pole. I"m afraid to turn the fan on higher than the low speed.
My tightening mechanism does not tighten. It just spins. Tried turning right and even turning left. The smaller pole simply falls to the bottom. Not pleased!
Why is there a huge screw in the motor pole preventing it from being tightened on to the pole??
where i can find model number on fan assembly , i need to buy remote
Same problem with the base when I want to put it in a different location fan comes with and the base stays lol ugh anyone know what they are doing about it.
What's the best thing to oil the fan with when it drys out. That's the problem I'm having.
3 in 1 motor oil blue can
So why the insertion of the smaller pole into the bigger pole not clearly demonstrated in the written instructions. It had me frustrated
Wish the written instructions had the part about the flared end of the small pole. 🤦♀️
Didn’t find the fan nut ...,in the package with the blades ..., any alternative to fix it?
Pl suggest
So I have a simple question I bought a new fan and my child Mother plug it into wrong voltage I want to know if I have to just change the fuse for it to start working again
The fan part doesn’t let the little piece to keep it in place stay it just falls off
I’d believe that the pole should be pushed into the base and twisted so it locks, those complaints are ridiculous about it not locking
Why skip the top part of the fan?
So the Head/Head assembly DO NOT lock into place? That seems a bit cheap...
The pole doesn't stay in the base. 3rd one.
The base don't lock stick in THAT'S IT DON'T NOO SENSE IT SOULD LOCK IN
Asked about how to take off fan timer
how much do it costs
These cyclone pedestal fans are better then the cheaper Lasko fans
Thanks
How the heck do you put the front plate onto the back? Seems the front plate is much bigger than the back piece.
How does she stick the pole through so esly
Make sure to loosen the adjustment nut first. Took a few tries until mine finally went in.
I can't find English instructions. I can't figure out how to insert the button that stops it from oscillating. Otherwise I love the fan.
Why is the airflow low no matter what speed it's on?
Forget about the poles. How to assemble the fan!!!
My base is not holding the base
My Lasko fan is not oscillating. Help!

the instructions in the manual are awful and confusing. thank God for this video.
Wow! She's beautiful.

How to attach pole with base? There should be something to hold them together. Disappointed!
