its a damn shame that it took until 06-07 for the corps to get a legitimate spec ops unit, even tho all the other spec ops units saw force recon as spec ops, cause they were. its still ridiculous how the corps head shed didnt want a recognized SOF unit cause they claimed it took away from the "eliteness" of line marines, which is stupid and childish. and they legitimately tried to sabotage there own SOF unit the very first year it was operational. fuxkin crazy.
It was about resources and losing those highly trained Marines to someone else's missions. USSOCOM has different priorities from USMC command missions.
No combat deployments in over 10 years… total waste of taxpayers dollars.
Marines needs to stop bragging about doing less with more. Marines need to start demanding more from the DOD.
Especially us guys who were poisoned at camp lejeune
Not going to happen. The best they can hope for is an efficient restructure that leaves them focusing on maritime deployments and less on conventional warfare activities the army can do.
