Elder abuse is a violation of trust that causes harm or distress to an older person. By 2030, the global population of individuals aged 60 years or older is expected to increase by 38%, and incidences of elder abuse are expected to rise. World Elder Abuse Awareness Day reminds everyone that our elders deserve our highest love and protection and we must ensure they lead lives of peace and dignity.
