The writing in Yakuza 5 was the best of any Yakuza game. No other writers could make a scene go so hard about 2 men in an empty restaurant talking about meat doneness
@@LemonFilmsForever I loved shinada’s part! When I go to some videos to rewatch a shinada cutscene, I see hate for his part in the comments, I just don’t get it. He was fun and breathed a bit of life as things were getting a bit stale in the game
This was the first Yakuza game I played with Saejima in it. I thought he'd be like a brute and have a sort of tough guy act. I was really surprised watching him calmly try to reason with the thugs when he leaves the restaurant.
I love how deep Saejima can get. its true though. like a plate of uncharred tripe, newbies that care not about experience are gonna get chewed up and spat out. only the more passionate will make it anywhere in the world.
What I love about it is, Yakuza 4 was somehow enough time for Saejima to come to grips with the reality of some shit, so here you THINK he'd be just as cracked as Majima, but no. Here he is FINALLY back with his sworn brother doing what a sworn brother does by helping Majima out best he knows how and with SUCH a moving analogy. Like i think we all can draw on it in one way or another. It's why you don't fuck with Saejima, he's not some punk bitch with muscles, he has feeling and a mind, he knows how to use them.
There’s a local taqueria that I go to and I order their tripe and always request that it’s cooked well-really charred. It’s the best meat mixed with carnitas.
just a tip tho, let it a little charred like there some black spot around the side of the meat. if you let the side part fully black, it will be too charred for your taste bud
this game is so special to me man. just 6 minutes of buddies chatting eating and talking about life. every dialogue, every script was so well written. this series can make us interested of simple moments like this, its hard to pull off but rgg did it.❤
I legit went out and got some large intestine (horomon) after watching this and tried it out. Saejima’s completely right, half-cooked it’s way too chewy, gamey, and fatty, and it tastes awful. But char it slowly, let some of the fat render out, and it becomes crunchy and flavorful. It doesn’t look like much on a plate since cooking it to that point almost always leaves it with some black charred spots, but it’s become one of my favorite bbq dishes.
This scene alone make me love Saejima. True that Yakuza 4 is game that revolve around Saejima and his sister,Yasuko(4 is more like Akiyama’s standalone game featuring Tanimura while everyone keep forgetting that Kiryu existed in this game.) But 5 is where my dude can truly shine. They done his justice both gameplay and characteristics. He sound like that cool uncle who always teach you something.
Damn i am not on 5 yet but this makes me want to play 5 IMMEDIATELY. It's wholesome and just a good breath of fresh air seeing the two usual monsters talk philosophically about the life of a yakuza
I think the tripe that was burnt for too long was sorta based off of Saejima’s old boss. After being burnt for too long a once very influential man now is nothing but an old and dying homeless guy
Glad I'm not alone in preferring the longer hair over the buzzcut. Makes him look wiser and more badass to me. Mostly 'cause I think of it as his Tiger fur.
I love that Majima gets to act all normal with Saejima. It's nice to see him have his guard down once in a while.
Absolutely 🥺 it’s lovley to see 🥺
Instablaster.
He doesn't do that with even Kiryu
Well that's because Saejima knew Majima before he went bat shit crazy
@@Kronos0999 Gotta keep up that persona for the fun

@@peronister That's why you'll always remain a disappointment of a daughter.
is it fun
Funny watching Majima be so normal. Like he isn’t afraid to be himself around saejima and let’s his “crazy” guard down
Yeah, Saejima is basically the only person he let his true self out for anymore. Not even Kiryu get that privilege lol.
@@quanha7490 I mean kiryu literally gets goromi so that evens out i suppose
He reverts back to his Yakuza 0 persona when he talks either to Saejima or Yuki

Yakuza zero would like to speak with you.
@@thetruegham6378 I would say they are on par I pretty much loved the stories Altho tbf 6 for me is better than both of them
Writing was good, story was a clusterfuck lol
@@bonkgameing For real, it's why Shinada's more self-contained story is such a great break and why it's a lot of people's favourite part of the game.

He was like that in Yakuza 4 and was so boring, totally my least favorite protag.
Yakuza 5 did him justice.
@@LaVitaNouva Yeah. He was really detailed in Yakuza 5. My 3rd favourite protagonist in 5, after Akiyama and Kiryu.

At first I thought he was boring but after his deathmatch speech I changed my mind and now he's one of my favorites
2:38 I first watched Baka Mitai because of the memes, watched a clip of 24 Hour Cinderella, and here I am now watching cute Majima eating
Right?? He looks so wholesome

Very true, In all aspects of life
One of the best scenes in the Yakuza series, Saejima has the best redemption arc ever.
Top 10 rubber bullet moment

Saejima's speech always pump me up
i find majima's little "ha?"s so adorable idk why
"Don't got the stomach I used to"
Guess the sermon really helped
Well, mood can affect appetite. The sermon probably made him feel a lot more positive and hungry
What a philosophy
I love this scene but I wish they had more bro parts like this
This makes me wonder what if Nishiki was still alive
"Told him I would pull the Tojo out of the gutter" hits different after Yakuza 7

This makes me wanna try charred tripe, now
I can only confirm that uncharred tripe is indeed, trash.
There’s a local taqueria that I go to and I order their tripe and always request that it’s cooked well-really charred. It’s the best meat mixed with carnitas.
I wonder what kind of tripe is and if charred really tastes good.

as good as this scene is, this is probably one of the dumbest excuses for Saejima going back to prison I have ever heard lol

Tbh, he probably did it so he can’t help his oath brother and the whole Tojo Clan without ducking and dodging police for the rest of his life
