One thing I always do is use this order mate: 1. If headlights are to be restored but not the engine to be cleaned and was dirty, I cover the entire engine with a plastic. No one blames me for additional engine being dirty because of compound sling, anyway it was dirty but not because of compound sling 🤷🏾♂️😄 2. If headlights are to be restored and engine also then no problem with compound sling 3. If headlights are to be restored but engine was cleaned or is relatively clean, I do as in step 1 where I cover it entirely with the plastic.
