OMG Vaughan was the most influential cartoonist when I was drawing way back then. I developed many characters based on Vaughan's styles. I was in front row at BGSU performance. 30-40 people? He signed 2 of my Cheechwizard comics. He autographed a joint for my room mate!! I have thought about this night so many times and never knew tha cam was behind me. I wanted to work for Disney as well! Thanks for posting Molly!.
This is the first time - I finally - Got to Experience The phenomenon of Vaughn Bode' !! I've Loved Loo-keed-ging His Comic Characters since first meeting them - perhaps at a Sci-Fi Con-Funzon '74 to '77, or a "sexy" bookshop somewhere - around that time, and discover ed others since. THANK YOU Very Much!!! For providing This Slice of 'Spice'. I would liked to have met Vaughn. I once did a tribute artwork to Vaughn * a "Vehicle - Stop" point -- come "Couple - Canoodling" centre * ,,,, Thanks Again
Bode's "Schizophrenia" comic book (the skinny side) probably saved my life at some point in the 1970s...and I liked "Benny's Swamp Tours" as well. Thank you for putting this up for old fans and new.
Beautiful work, Molly, I still appreciate to this day when Mark showed me this video back in 1988. Hope everything works well with the upcoming Cobalt 60 film!
So great to see and hear Vaughn's Cartoon Concert again! I saw him perform twice back in the day, including his last show at the '75 Julycon in New York City. Never dreamed at the time that that in two weeks he would be gone... Thanks for posting this!
Vaughn Bode is right up there with the Buddha, Leon Trotsky and Huey P Newton as myone of my all time heroes. Not just his art but his uncompromising way of living life is an absolute inspiraion. Let's just hope this upcoming Cobalt 60 movie doesn't sully his memory.
thank you so much for posting this. i've only imagined for years and years what Vaughn Bode's concerts were like. This surpasses what I had imagined. Thank you again.
Bless ya Molly! His voicing ability i thought was amazingly entertaining and brilliantly whimsical, his tones and yelps were perfectly humorous and suited for his cast of motley characters which still kept itz adultness much like a dark comedy .His style reminds me of Daws Butler and the similarity to Jim henson is just so much that it drives me to the question of "did they ever meet?" They both inhabited New york around the same time, wonder if they caught any of each others experimental shows?

Looks like his art may have been taken by the artist who made Rayman and all his friends. Just check for yourself.
