I always wonder why people feel compelled to make such comments. What difference does it make whether he is gay or not, black or white. As far as I am concerned he is a wonderful person and a wonderful gifted singer. I had the privilege of attending one of his perfomances of „Winterreise“ and meeting him with Julius Drake after the concert. The performance made an unfortgettable impression on me and meeting him and Julius Drake after the concert confirmed to me that both are wonderful artists as well as persons.
I love him so much for his personality :) and for his Schubert . Lieder , especially " Auf dem Wasser zu singen "

And i always assumed he was gay! (Maybe he is?) Anyway, a wonderful singer and person.
Why this assumption?
Gay, straight?His gender has nothing what so ever to do with his performance as one of the top singers in the world.
