I think this is the best video she's done, it has the most cohesive vision despite such an odd variety of visual inspirations. I think a lot of her past videos kind of came off as uncluttered and unfocused, like she really needed a good director to help pull her through inane visuals. Here she's got tons of charisma and you can tell that she's grown as a performer and the visuals all come together in a very intentional way, someone had a fucking vision that they pitched for the video concept and they fucking delivered. I hope she sticks with this creative team because they mesh with her so well.

I genuinely appreciate that you used trained cheerleaders for the video. Most artists would have skipped past that. As a dancer myself, I love seeing how much you truly care about the dancers you are using in videos and on stage. You always give them credit which make my heart warm as most people would just hire and forget about them. Love you Ash!

I think this captures the teenage girl internal experience extremely well. The almost cult like bond that can be formed in girl groups especially where trust is needed while there is still a competition to be the best or most beautiful (like in cheer) is so fasinating!!

Similarly, the large creature she's fighting in Weedkiller looks a lot like one of the ones from the end of Worms. I wonder if they will bridge into each other with future videos. It seems like she's hoping to have a full coherent album video/storyline by the end of the singles releases?
In worms is the part where she makes her way to fight the weed killer and his army, you can even see "enemy identified: Weedkiller" on her goggles. Weed killer is where the troupes killed each other and only ash and the weed killer is left.

Melanie is the most self aware, creative, unique person in this world. All of her songs are so beautiful and the meanings behind them are so important and powerful. She deserves so much love and recognition🩷
