Vince Gilligan stated on the director's commentary that the original cut is 3 hours long. I'd love to see that version of the movie tbh.
Same man
I would've loved for him to have extended it a little longer and have come out with an El Camino I and II. I can't get enough of the Breaking Bad series and movies.
I wish they showed skyler n walt jr and what they were doing .Just a scene
Eh I mean how much more/what else could he have shown? I'd care to wager a huge bulk of what he cut out probably boils down to somewhat-pointless driving sequences or something of the like. IMO Camino is the weakest in the BB universe, it was mostly just seeing Jesse tortured/completely broken and where he went after his escape, really nothing special.
@@CommanderLongJohn I think El Camino is kinda fan service movie. People wanted to see Jesse have a happy ending & they did that. Its definitely not as good as Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul, but its a very good movie & wraps up Jesse’s story in a great way.
I pray that one day Vince Gilligan will release the 3 hour extended-cut of El Camino
We just got a 4 hour long justice league movie, anything is possible!
maybe with the breaking bad/ better call saul complete box set.
I honestly think the movie is good as it is, as I don't feel it rushed or that I doesn't explain enough in any part. If cuts where made, it was for a reason. Vince showed us the movie just as he wanted to be.

Ed was a lot like Mike.
Thus far, the only characters to appear in Breaking Bad, El Camino, and Better Call Saul
No bullshit, straight to the point, focused on business and safety and nothing else.
Mike and Ed both had a soft spot for Jesse. They both also knew exactly what Saul and Walt were. I hope Saul gets an awesome ending fitting to his arc and character.

I like when Ed asked Jesse for his gun, saying he doesn't need it anymore, and the look on Jesse's face. You can see the weight the poor guy has been carrying since he started his partnership with Walt.
It's almost like he's been clutching that gun since the show began.
He is relieved because he found no safety in his partnership with Walt and felt like he always needed a gun because no body else would protect him and also I think he is relieved that he doesn’t need a gun anymore because he shot gale
Poor guy? he was in the game just like Walt , produced enormous amounts of meth, got jane, Andrea and other addict's in rehab hooked again, and killed gale... surprised at the amount of innocence jessie gets.
@@madac219 While Jesse being a fictional character definitely influences people loving him (if he was a real person everyone would want him in prison), but I don’t think it’s fair to deny someone empathy because of their moral actions. It seems to me like that turns compassion on its head.

Ed the Disappearer had a soft spot for Jesse. Robert was so great in this role and it was a really nice one for him to end his long wonderful career with. Rest in peace Robert.

@@sonoftheway3528 he probably developed one after seeing the trouble he went through to get the rest of the money
I think everyone had a soft spot for Jesse - Mike, Ed, the dude who owned the junkyard. Most of the characters in Breaking Bad are older, so I think a lot of them felt some sort of paternal instinct toward him

Saul actually went where he's chosen to. He predicts the exact job and place back in BB, and in BCS he is doing exactly that in the flash forwards.
@@kbencze95 Yeah. And for Walt I don't think he cared where he'd go, he would have stayed if he wasn't forced to bail

If the police ever caught up to Ed, they wouldn't get a thing from him. Every legal threat they'd make, he'd just embarrass them as forging documents has probably taught him a lot about policies. I'm wondering if they were planning on bringing Robert Forster back for the final season of Better Call Saul, and now they're going to have to write around his death. Perhaps they could do a reverse Twin Peaks and hire Michael Ontkean to play Ed Galbraith's brother who has taken over the vacuum repair shop because Ed's in poor health.

Thanks for posting!
Time have changed.
Probably the last show we need in the Breaking Bad universe that we sadly won't likely get due to Robert's death is a prequel series of a younger Ed establishing his disappearing business over the course of several years even before the events of Better Call Saul.
Robert Forster was a very under-rated actor and I am glad in later life he got some acknowledgement and recognition. I always liked his roles even as a kid when he was in films like "The Black Hole", "Delta Force" and "Alligator".
This show is so good that I would watch any of the characters sit and eat a bowl of soup.
Thanks for posting this.
"Where do you wanna go?" It would've been really easy to just have Jesse say "Alaska," but Vince doesn't take the easy route, and I love that. We all heard him say a very confident "Alaska" in our head, but Vince is keeping us in the moment. Jesse's overwhelmed and exhausted, he's in no state of mind to make any decision. And Ed is kind enough in this moment to recognize that and allow it.
Thank You for posting this.
You noticed that Jesse got shot exactly where Walt was in Felina.
When he says to give him the gun because where he's going he won't need it anymore really makes you realize it's finally over

I've always liked the thought that Robert Forester is the same character as his character in Jackie Brown.
The little montage at the beginning of this video shows 3 major locations now no longer as we know them. Jesse and Jane's place (Donald's rental property), then Saul's strip mall office, then finally Los Pollos (now a Twisters which it actually always was).

2:11 Such clever directing and camera angles to make the sunlight appear like a new beginning.
Bravo Vince
The cinematography is gorgeous
That's an amazing shot at the end
For anyone who's confused, Jesse was originally supposed to get shot during the showdown at the shop. To my knowledge it was filmed that way originally, and later edited to remove it.
In my opinion you can tell he was shot during the scene itself. While they cut any explicit shots of him wounded, the way Aaron Paul plays the scene has always felt like he was supposed to be wounded.
Either way, I think the scenes are great. I'll take any chance to get more Robert Forster, though from a pacing standpoint I think it works better as it was done in the finished film. Jesse had won by that point. The fight was over. To have him be shot would've done nothing but add a scene that doesn't really have a need to be there, and personally I think the reveal that he made it is much better in the finished version where we just see that he got there, and not necessarily how he got to Ed. Also since Jesse clearly gets patched up, having this scene (as well as the whole gunshot bit) would've been kind of pointless in the story. Random extra bit of tension after the climax that isn't necessary. Still a great scene from a great film though, cut or not.
I find it a very interesting scene to watch, especially since it adds a bit more realism to the shooting scene. In BB there were many details that were always there, not to add tension, but simply to be. Like when Mike gets shot in the ear in one shot, the next one is no longer relevant, but it's not entirely unnecessary either. Plus, it's fun to watch Jesse pass out after so much stress.
I would’ve liked this kept in because it’s transition nicely into the Walt and Jesse flashback. In my opinion it’s doesn’t transition very well into the final film
It would’ve been cool if he was listening to the *Delfonics* in his car!
Absolutely awesome 👌
God Aaron Paul plays this so well, you can tell he's just completely exhausted after essentially forcing himself to stay awake for a few days to get the money, both from the apartment, and from the duel.
Something that better call Saul and El Camino do not get enough credit for is the fantastic production design, in what other show can they do wide shots like this. The scouting for location is also remarkable.
It's great Robert Forster got to do 2 great roles at the end of his Career with Breaking Bad and Twin Peaks. Incredible actor.
And don’t forget Jackie Brown!

Legends never die
The Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul world/writers seem to always love badass old men, lol.
“Beware the elders who work in professions in which most die young”
It's kind of funny that this guy has to be one of the most influential, well-connected, and smartest people in this universe, and no one who doesn't need to know he exists, knows he exists.
He could conceivably be Max Cherry with a different name and identity, utilizing his knowledge of criminals and their underworld doings to create a unique side business.

Shit, I've been calling him the vaccume guy this whole time.
Two U's not two C's. and no E on the end. Vacuum.
I get why they cut the scene, but I think the first 13 seconds could have been in the movie somewhere. Takes up no time at all and shows the world moving on from Gus/Saul. Cool stuff imo
That did end up in the movie but earlier when Jesse first slept at Badger’s place
I love this I understand they cut it for time but that was great.
he was great in this role ... R.I.P.
When you go to a GTA V mission and the game sets the right time period before the cutscene.
If you haven't seen the wolf of snow hallow, I recommend you do. Also R.I.P Robert Forster.

Love to see the Toyota Previa getting some screentime. Such a great model. Wish I still had mine.
This scene is kinda unbelievable considering this whole state is on a manhunt for Jesse and he just fell asleep in his car on a random road. Would think there would be cops patrolling everywhere, especially in that town.
Remember Skinny and Badger gave the cops a fake trail to Mexico for the cops to follow.
I kinda like how the dude stares at the money for a few seconds, just contemplating all the shit he’s about to have to deal with and an incredibly high profile wanted man..
"crap I told him I'd help him if he got the money, I just didn't think he would!" Lol
At 0:05 you can see the big concrete platform they put in front of Saul's office. Vince mentions in the BCS Insider Podcast that their construction crew tore that down and restored it. So if they flash forward to that location with Gene (like they did with Walter's house), they would probably have to reconstruct it because the 2019 look of the place is apparently canon according to this clip.
This is the moment
They should repurpose some of this footage for when Kim uses his services in BCS.
or Nacho
Wish you put a spoiler warning first.
I get the feeling that in BCS we’ll see the vacuum shop and Ed’s wife. She’ll be in on the disappearing business and be yelling for Ed who’s somewhere else in the shop offscreen. But it’ll be obvious she has cancer or something terminal. Both explaining why Ed isn’t there and why she isn’t seen in Breaking Bad.
