My name is Sydney and I’m an actress/singer-songwriter who writes music about my experiences being autistic, disabled, gay, and in general, a human. Yes agreed, I haven't had a crush on a girl exactly but I do find women attractive. I now have a husband and 2 kids. I find him attractive but also it's a lot about the person's mind and heart, but he is attractive physically to me as well. I've always been curious about having a relationship involving more than 2 people and how that could work but my husband and I both kinda think that we probably couldn't handle it, we have enough problems communicating with eachother without adding someone else into the mix

what a story and also how many common themes we all have. i'm very much lesbian because I realized I have no actual felt desire for men and continue to conflate friendship / soul bonding with crushes even leading me to once in a blue moon kiss and/or hook up with guys (usually right on the heels of a devastating lesbian breakup). BUT that being said the only men I have even dabbled in this situation with are all boy band / justin bieber types which is essentially the butch lesbian trope you described as your boy crushes, interestingly in real life I only date femme girls (nothing against butch women just not my particular attraction). what a world, sometimes I feel like we should banish all labels and that we are living in a transitional time (pun intended) where we have to reclaim various queer and trans identities because of the false binaries that are being legislated all around us HOWEVER end of the day it's very very hard to put anyone into a box. conclusion: this resonates.

as someone who's only a few years older than you it blows my mind how different our experiences with being queer in high school were. I'm super happy for you that when you did come out you had friends that supported you!! that's really amazing!!

I feel like half my friends are bi and afraid of men for obvious reasons, so 😡 to that person. Also, finding men attractive-in-theory is a whole community vibe!

Hahahaa I had such a similar “relationship” in highschool (back in the day of “do you want to be my girlfriend?”) - we got together right before summer break, kissed like once? Maybe twice (he was a terrible kisser). Didn’t talk all summer and then broke up when school started back up. Cringe!!!!!
