It's simple, and woks very well, all of your tools are great . Been watching all of your videos for some years here from Victoria, Australia 🇦🇺 . Nothing like your tools available here though.
Thank you Graeme! Finishing up contracts but we are working to make tools available for you in Australia! If there is something in particular that you have interest in let us know and we can include that in our container shipment to our distributor.
Wouldn't this normally be combined with your finger weeders in the same pass? This looks like the exact conditions we would use the power ox with beet knives and finger weeders. Is there any reason this wouldn't work here?
Great question Chris! I know this is essentially a setup they had on their Allis G that worked really well and they really wanted to do the same thing on the Tilmor. There are a couple of different things I would personally do different on this setup like adding torsion mounts or flex tines for some flotation as well as combining with the finger weeders as you have suggested. They have a completely different setup that they run directly after this with finger weeders but they were experimenting with a lot of different configurations and as this is their first year having more flexibility in their systems I am sure it will evolve quite a bit as each season comes and goes. So aside from some creative positioning with mounts and implement components, there is no reason the beet knife and finger weeder combo wouldn't work here!
In the context of the beet hoes or cultivation tools in general? The beet hoes are great when being used in front of something like finger weeders or torsion weeders for a lot of crops including soybeans. They move a bit more soil away from the row than something like the tender plant hoes, but the way they are angled and tapered next to the row they will collect less organic material and cut a really nice shape for whatever tool you use for the cultivation in the crop row. Our recommendations can change a bit depending on the amount of acres you are wanting to do, but the concepts remain the same. Some other great combination for soybeans are A-blades and Finger Weeders, Beet Sweeps and Torsion Weeders, Tine Weeder. Give us a call if you want to talk through any potential setups!
