Great piece that I'm trying to learn. A technical question: in measure 27 (the only one with four staves) it appears that the top two staves are in 9/16 and the bottom two are in 11/16. Could it be that the second F-B-D-Eb-Ab chord found in the bottom two staves (tied to the first appearance of the chord so it's not actually sounded a second time) should be made from EIGHTH notes rather than quarter notes? This would make everything in 9/16. I know this is modern music but I don't think Takemitsu intended inconsistent meters like this...unless I'm confused. Nice performance by the way!

Yes, thats a typo. If you view the preview from Schott you will see that the second appearance of the described chord is corrected to a eight note.

Once again, no melody, no rhythm, no architecture, impulsive spasms. How do you rate
    this as music?

this is quite obviously an extension of composers such as debussy. wonderfully dreamlike chords and melodies that may be difficult to follow but induce a weightless feeling. this is wonderfully advanced, transcendtal, human music.
