Yeah it is really confusing seeing that Paige caught up To Catrina and then showing her 3 back on the final leaderboard. Then is still says she’s tied for 1st? What is going on here?
Looks fine to me. She has her lie marked with a mini, and she moved her disc in front of that, so don’t go by her disc. Her foot lands right behind her mini.
@@bfizzle847 Okay, I looked at it again on a bigger screen, and you're correct. I think it's just a hole in the dirt. However, she was only a foot or so behind where she was supposed to be, and I don't think it really made a difference in the shot, based on the angle. It's a challenge to do run-ups and plant your foot, without looking, right behind your disc. You're going to be a bit off sometimes. I see lots of people (FPO and MPO) a little too far back from the disc, sometimes a bit to the side, sometimes stepping on the back edge of the disc -- nobody on the cards calls this unless it's really blatant, because everyone has it happen occasionally and they want to play golf. Being hyper focused on foot faults is a little ridiculous - it's very rare that it has any demonstrable effect on the shot.
Well. You should play from your lie. And for this perticular shot it is clear that she intentionally choose to plant her foot quite far behind her lie. This in order to get some extra relief from the bushes right in front. But since no one called it, it was not a violation. But this really shows why the sport needs a new ruling procedure. Especially now when they are playing for big money.
No knocks to Madison, love 2HotGeese commentary. This is a question to the disc community... Why do people get "stability" wrong, or maybe I'm just wrong? Something stable should go in a straight line. If you find a more stable disc, it should go in a straighter line, not fade harder. Stability doesn't equate to fade. Over-stability equates to fade. People talk about throwing "stable" discs in the wind, but most people are throwing over-stable discs in the wind. Idk, I'm probably just the doofus among us, or maybe not. Keep Honking out the commentary, loving the return of the disc season!
This is something that I see across the disc golf community. So to me, when speaking on stability, I think of it on a sliding scale with overstable on one end, stable in the middle, and understable on the opposite end. The problem it, stability is used as both a reference of measurement in that scale (the middle) and as a term to adjust that imaginary slider (imagine +/- stability). You add more stability, and that moves the scale towards overstable. Remove stability and vice-versa. I think this is the way many (most maybe?) think of it, and how Madison was referencing it. It just doesn't make sense to have overstability move the slider one way, understablity the other, and stability moves it both directions toward the center of that scale. By this way of thinking, the scale would work more like this: I throw my F2 and it hyzers out too early. I need to throw a more stable disc. So I throw my F5. It turns over too early. I again need to throw a more stable disc. See why this gets confusing? I threw two opposite shots, and need to make opposite adjustments to my throws, but speaking in these terms, it sounds like I need to make the same adjustment to my throw, which I don't. Not sure if this makes sense to you, but I feel like this might explain the confusion a little.
@@Wiskeiy OK, same movement, same angle, same power, same spin. Your overstable f2 is to overstable. Your understable f5 is to understable. Do you need a stable disc? Yes. You can't power up the f2 for it to be straight, you can't power down the f5 for it to be straighter, you need a stable disc in the middle that makes your shot straight. The real problem is flight numbers don't matter, every disc has some minor difference, and most discs will act differently depending on who throws them. Maybe I'm misreading what you're meaning. But again, I'm probably the doofus. I feel like I saw a video on Uli's channel maybe a year and a half ago where he was saying what I am saying. Idk, I'll just assume I'm a doofus. It's not a problem, I understand the commentators perfectly either way
@@josephmichels6347 also take into account how the wind is going to effect how the disc flies. I’m going throw a disc that I consider to be stable or more over stable for myself in a head wind if i don’t want it to turn over to the right. A stable disc for me could be an over stable disc disc for someone else who isn’t as strong. Stability is about fading left at varying degrees or fighting the wind and ending up going straight in a head wind.
@@Summer-lq6xh I mean, exactly, stability refers to the disc going in a straight line. A stable disc reads X-X-0-0 (or close). Of course you'd grab an overstable disc for a headwind. If someone were to ask me if they should grab a stable disc or an overstable disc to fight the headwind, 100% I am telling them to grab the more overstable disc. That's the argument 😅 When commentators say people are throwing stable discs, they are likely throwing overstable discs. Hence, when they say how Evelina is throwing stable discs, they are all straight to hard fades, a stable disc does not have a hard fade. They are throwing overstable plastic. On a better note, I can't wait for your namesake season to bring us all the joy of throwing them sweet sweet plastic circles.
It's because not everyone is a physicist. Different regions have different dialects and words can have multiple meanings. This doesn't make your understanding of the word incorrect, nor does it make others' use and interpretation of the word incorrect either. For these reasons, I try to avoid stable and try to use overstable, neutral, and understable.

Love that we’ve got you two commentating again this year! Honk
Wow, Paige and Kristin climbing back into it! The last round is going to be intense!
Hailey King for the chase card win!
Let’s go Kristin!!!!
Such a great product GK. Hot Goose Nation 🦆🦆
Nice coverage however standings in the end completely wrong.

It's great to see a close game (so far) with the women.
GK pro, love your coverage.
Nice. Lets go ladies!
...this should be an epic finish!
Kristin 2 Eagles WOW
So amazing players
Would have liked to see Hailey make the lead card but hoping for a chase card win now!
Great job, HotGeese.
Wait, there's another round? Oh man, I don't know if my heart can take it! :-D
21:51 Two hot geese!
Why are scores different from the end of the round and then the leaderboard shown after?
Holy foot fault @10:50 by Paige ! You can tell she purposely did it to not hit that bush. This confirms that she knew about the mando @worlds.

Leaderboard at the end is wrong.
Paige foot fault on hole 12 second shot was not pretty to watch. Otherwise a very nice production as usual. Thank you GK.
I'm fairly new to disc golf, please can you explain the foot fault, I don't understand what Paige did or didn't do, thank you in anticipation
Too far back from her lie
@@Jackleber Thank you for that, each bit of information helps me understand and enjoy disc golf more 👍
It didn’t look that far back from her lie, just rewatched it and nothing jumps out. The pink disc is the lie, right?

hey, unsound person. use the volume control!

Nope
You can’t hear the commentary over the music at the beginning or the end.
So instead I’ll say ”hey sound person, turn down the intro and outro music” to satisfy you
