In this video you'll get to know TRAKTOR's sync function. Learn how it works, how to use it and how it will help you learn to mix seamlessly every time. You'll also learn why beatgridding your tracks is important and how to set them right - from the very start.
I'm a new dj so forgive me for such an ignorant question but how do you decide which track to match the other one two. Always the one that is already playing I assume, but what if you are planning your set or mix tape? Is it better to slow down the faster one or speed up the slower one. I am mostly into EDM style which averages around 128bpm so I guess around there would be my goal bpm. I also play hardcore dance which could be much faster and progressive house which could be slower. Is it better to try to sync them and then split the difference so one is playing slightly faster and one is playing slightly slower? How do I mix tracks that are widely different in tempo? More importantly, how do I plan a set that has a wide variety of tempos? I'm sorry if some of these questions are answered in other videos, I'm just having a hard time getting these answers. Thank you
Mike Kelly Great question but this is a huge subject! Best place to ask your question is on the Digital DJ Tips Forum (www.digitaldjtips.com/forum), where the whole community can see your issue and someone can hopefully help you. :)
Mike Kelly depends how you want the night to. Slower or faster.

im having a dilemma no matter what tracks are playing drum and bass or bassline or whatever whenever I press the sync key to sync the tracks together for some reason the one that I pressed sync on cuts to 138 bpm how do I fix this
Could be something to do with your Master tempo section in the top left area of the software, would look there first
Digital DJ Tips what do you suggest I do
@@MataZDJ I didn't understand the question but there are two ways too sync, one is to sync to the track you playing live the other is to sync into the master tempo you got on your laptop. The master tempo is above the mixer you can easy see it in traktor software it says sync or master and above the track A, it says the same sync or master. This is important too when traktor analyse a track it doesn't always put the flag on the first beat you have to zoom in all the way and put the flag near the beat. I hope that helps.
Thanks for your help Helder.
You forgot to tell your audience that traktor doesn't always puts the load marker right on the first beat. You got to zoom in all the way into the first beat and put the cue point there most of the time traktor gets it wrong the first beat it usually puts the cue point or load marker 2/5 inside into the first beat traktor. So when you try to mix even if you analyse the track the beats will not match if you don't review the cue points traktor add on automatically
Thanks for the Helder. Yes, in common with all DJ software, it sometimes gets that a bit out.
I guess it is kinda randomly asking but does anybody know a good place to stream new series online ?
