Texas here=> I have BF larvae in my bin almost every check-in. I have every stage from tiny white ones to big black ones. I fluff my bin every week or two and feed the larvae I fish out to my chickens. But I would prefer to have none! They do seem to gravitate to the fresh food. *sigh* I keep my worm bins in the house because of the brutal Tx heat, but BF still find their way into my bins.
So you’ll like my next video but I’ll cut to the chase. Another YT subscriber suggested putting a hotdog or bratwurst in the bin. The BSFL will go after it but the worms won’t. They might congregate in one place for you to manually remove them. Worth a shot!
@@UrbanWormCompany I'll try that! I have noticed that they like the really wet stuff so I thought I would try some squishy bread. My worms usually go for it last so maybe the BFL won't be robbing them of the good stuff. I'll let you know.

The box looks a bit dry. Is that normal?

It amazes me how they go bonkers over pumpkin.🤷♂️
What kind of sand are you using? It looked real fine in video.
Just regular play yard sand. Nothing fancy!
Have you tried DE? Not sure if it will work but it's easy to try and won't hurt your worms.
DE would only work against hard-shelled pests, I believe.
Black soldier fly are hard to stop getting in your worm bins 🇳🇿🪱
