That is indeed a very simple but effective method of removing BSF. Thank you and Aaron Brown for sharing. Thankfully, I haven't had that issue.

When I researched the effect of bin critter poop on worms, I didn't see anything about BSF. The poop from roly-poly's and springtails amplifies the microbial content of worm castings. So it's not just about the chewing with those critters!

Great stuff. I always enjoy your videos.
My UWB is about 8 months in and starting to produce a ton of castings. I mixed in a trayed system when I moved them inside and that was too messy so I have a mix of blues and red wigglers that seem to thrive together. It's a minor inconvenience to harvest, but that's relatively rare compared to all the times I get in there from the top. I'm a big fan.

Somewhat off topic but since you invited questions. You and others have mentioned wormchow as a good way to fatten up your worms. Other than retailers doing this so they can sell fewer worms by wt. Is there a practical reason for wanting fatter worms?

Not that I can think of, other than that it’s an indication of good health and ample hydration. But you can have a healthy bin full of scrawny worms too.

No jabs thrown, just saying you look like Earthworm Jim grew up and joined the police academy and that's not a bad thing
