+5115neo Yeah it's kind of obnoxious. I mean, I'm mostly into Death or Prog Metal, but I like to think my taste is varied. I don't even like emo normally, and I kinda liked this myself. But I can respect that some, if not most of the time, it's going to be something I don't like, but I don't rag on the stuff I dislike. Does anyone really care to hear all the negative commentary?

People dont choose either! They get a app to voice there request! The end choice is money men at ubi! I just feel because theres not enuff people playing rs compared to what a gh/rb game can attract i feel it stops them really going for it! Prime example is the dlc with one fleet mac song! Thats a band that should of had a 5 pack! No question! Plus if any one is using that app then i bet wasnt just go your own way thats been requested thousands of times

Dont no much of there stuff, but i find it hard to believe anyone requested this. This is the barrel/money jar running empty here. Also whats with all the three pks lately? I understand they were short on heads a while back but that guy from hail the sun has returned and so to sam guy. Thing they have a last hurrah set up for xmas/new year and i reckon dlc will stop feb/march time. Hope im wrong tho. Plus i may be hating on this dlc this week however i will continue to buy and support it. I just feel ubisoft (not dan and team) have giving up on the franchise! If rockband can snare the likes of van halen/u2/ozzy/arctic monkeys/scorpions then these bands are more than willing to licence there material! Must b a money thing!

+Maarten Van Gestel end of day its weak dlc in comparison to what we could have! Not worried about genre. Its just this is poor for that. This time last year sure we were gettin a 7 pack of rage against machine. Big difference in quality like.

I'm not sure if that was meant as a joke or a legitimate argument (because I have seen many others use such statements as the latter), but I'll just point out that the game is also not called Metalsmith, Progsmith, Bluessmith etc. I don't intend for this reply to be a personal jab or anything; I'm simply sick and tired of hearing that argument pop up whenever people get up in arms about not having the songs that THEY want that particular week.
Also: no, money is not the single defining reason for why some bands have yet to show up.
+Dave Grant I don't think anything Sam or Shane notetracked would be due to come out for another couple of weeks still. There's a significant lead time for that stuff because of how long QA is and them probably wanting a buffer if stuff goes wrong. I don't think there's any reason to worry unless we still don't get bigger packs next month.

You are missing my point mate! Never said this was not getting requested! Im saying no where near the volume of the bands i rattled off! Theres more than them! Everyone thought van halen was a non starter because of the gh version. Rockband proved they were available! End of day it all comes down to money! Who would make more money this pish this week or an ozzy/sabbath etc etc? The more money put in the more they will get back. Theres nothing left! I hop im wrong!

+Dave Grant So, Harmonix got one on-disk Van Halen song, for their first game in 5 years. Now, I agree that Harmonix on-disk and DLC songs are better than Rocksmith for the most part, but Ubisoft doesn't give the creators of Rocksmith the budget that Harmonix has. Plus, if Rocksmith was to get a Van Halen pack, it would have to be 3+ songs, whereas Rock Band only has one. Activision got to make Guitar Hero Van Halen/Metallica because at that time, rhythm games had a large share of the market. The genre has been on the decline since those games came out, meaning that there isn't as much money to go around. Not to mention, Rocksmith wasn't even around until 2011.
When Rock Band went on hiatus, they still had money left over from the surplus they had made off of DLC and the other games, plus the money they had from the new series they made, like Dance Central and Fantasia. Rocksmith only gets one budget because they are branched off from Ubisoft, a gigantic and varied company that makes tons of money every year. Problem is, Rocksmith doesn't get special treatment and extra money for their budget if there is a surplus. They get what they get. Even Harmonix has had to face the fact that they aren't as relevant as they were in 2008. They are losing the licenses for the songs they got back in 2007 when Rock Band came out, the most popular being the Metallica 3-pack. Unless you had purchased that DLC before a certain time (before the license ran out), you couldn't download it ever. Now it's gone.
