Very true they're one of pioneers of this genre
💯
the thing I find annoying is, where was this genre hiding during lockdown 2020 in the UK???! because I was thinking, surely a new genre is going to come out of this big global lockdown - so I was looking around and found nothing! , why is it only NOW I discover it. it should have come to me!!
Shout out to our brothers and sisters in South Africa given us this beautiful sound. AMAPIANO TO THE WORLD! love from Nigeria 🇳🇬 ❤️ home of afrobeats!
Haven’t listened to any other genre of music since hearing my first Amapiano song! The music, the dancing, the culture, the people, the artists..everything about Amapiano is LIFE❤️❤️❤️

I'm so glad that the rise of this genre has been documented, the story of Amapiano and the genre itself has all the makings of it being a worldwide phenomenon. Well done Papercutt TV for taking ownership of this BANGING art form, as Africans this is what we should be gunning for, Owning thingsthat we make instead of bashing them and thinking its inferior. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this its the 1st proper doccie on Amapiano I could find and its dope, looking forward to watching more cool SA content.
it made it 🥰
One thing I don't like about South Africa is being a spectator and cheerleader.
What can you do right here right Now to share this video on other platforms.
I pray we can continue the practice of documenting our culture. We have such vibrant stories to tell the world 🌍
Love from Ghana.. can’t wait to come back to Joburg to experience this VIBE
RIP to papers 707 🙏😭
Did you see the credits? Africans making it happen, telling their own story, makes me happy 😍
As North S.Africa (Zimbabwe) we endorse this
Loving Amapiano From Mississippi
I also grew up listening to MFR SOULS🔥🔥they played a big part in my production
Very informative. Kabza really worked hard to be where he's at. The originality is undeniable!
@꧁Sindano Negongo꧂ That's true but the talent has always been there. He was going to blow up one way or the other.
Rest in power papers 707🕊🙏🏿✊🏿
From Canada with love.
Love and respect to my wonderful brothers and sisters from South Africa. They deserve all the praise and success for this fantastic music called Amapiano.

Gaba Cannal come a long way with this type of Music
Shayaaaaaa! Malume!
I would have loved to hear Dj Stokie's part in Amapiano, his contributions in the Amapiano movement, his contributions in exposing the talent of many Amapiano Djs in the country, his contributions in kabza de small's musical growth and not forgetting De Mthuda, Stoks, Loxion Deep, Nobantu Vilakazi, Farmer and many more
South Florida, I kno my circle loves it, Spreading good music down here
Danko means thanks
It doesn't meter where it comes from

Love amapiano, everyday
It’s sad that most people are only discovering amapiano now... this genre HAS BEEEEENNN around. I enjoy classic amapiano back in the days... my Pta peeps I’m sure can relate
XOLANI REQUITO MKHWANAZI 😹😹😹
@XOLANI REQUITO MKHWANAZI Bathong!! wena you have a problem.
From tuka poi
I think you might be talking about Bacardi🤔
Yebo!🔥😂
I'm so happy someone recorded history in the making
The Piano guy at 4:45 is a whole vibe
DukeSoul was the first DJ/Producer I witnessed playing a piano live over a jazzy deep house beat. So, the Yanos didn't feel so new when I was introduced in 2017. The evolution with the vocalists, log drum and dances has been insane though, YOH!!
This documentary needs a part 2 trust me !!!
Okay looks like I’m the first Chinese who watched this video 😂Amapiano is amazing!Love from China 🦋
Honestly emotional seeing Papers 😔 MHSRIP🙏
Keep it flowing..... liiike the water! 💦😎😎👌.
This must be shared around the world for the sake of good music and good vibes💯🔥🙏🏻#amapiano can save the world
I ll never forget the first time I hear Amapiano in my life!
Shout out to you!
The sound of this genre is amazing. The tempo and flow of the beat patterns are immaculate. God bless Amapiano and South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤️✊🏾👏🏾
The Documentary intro gave me chilles!!!
Great work!
Yah no honestly, thanks MFR Souls. You are respect and appreciated. Everybody that was here from the beginning knows that amapiano is alive all because of MFR Souls.
Amapiano is a lifestyle ❤️
Kabza was a deep house
Ladi audiosoul and MFR Soul pioneered Amapiano genre
Gabba joined the journey earlier
Kabza came back to it because obviously he is a dope producer deep or piano.
For me Amapiano its a soulful house with kwaito culture in it hence its a lifestyle
Amapiano comes from Barcadi
New Amapiano fan here from Las Vegas, NV! In love with this genre.♥
Africans are the most creative people around the world.
Rest In Eternal Peace DJ Papers 707🙏🙏🙏
Proudly South African. But more than anything...... Proudly Pretorian 😃🌟
Great documentary, though you should have included Calvin Fallo. He has played a huge roll in the AMApiano genre
BIG ROLE!!
Agree 💯
I agree with you big time
Don't forget Bantu Elements
Iyah go interview him and post the video, well watch it. I think its time we became doers and not talkers only. whatever problem you fuind thats the opportunity righ there.
DTB was here (new Amapiano song from me in 2020)
I have so much respect for MFR Souls. 🙏🏽👊🏽
This is the best way we can tell our stories and capture them. This is by far thee best documentary simply because no one can deny or steal what has come out of the dusty streets to making it internationally. Props to the guys being the music and especially to the producers etc of this documentary.
I remember way back when Don Laka used to do kwaijazz, I think that's where it all started and these guys just took it to another level
Thanks to MFR Souls they deserve all the respect and also thanks to the other artists, producers and djs that pushed this wonderful genre
I miss the streets PAPERS death brought me here may his soul rest in peace.
Awesome doccie. Would be really great if the producers would consider creating more content around the history of other music genres in SA and around the continent. They have a knack for it and would be amazing at it
Thats the plan
Watched this documentary a few months ago but just wanted to let y’all know it was amazing and so well produced 🙌
Dope production guys. I really dig this doccie. I just wish all these guys came together and gave us PianoFest/AmapianoFest/YanosFest instead of gigging for other festivals and parties this December. I would’ve paid whatever ticket price they asked because I know such a party would be lit! I’m sure sponsors/corporates would’ve begged to get in on the action and they would all have made a killing! 💰
Then time British took this suggestion and created amafest
24:07 Song title: MOTENG - Alfa Kat ft Phantom Steeze 🙏🏽 Dankoo Piano Piano Danko Corona.. this documentary is amazing!! LETS KEEP GROWING
thank you !!!!
le wena o mo😅 ke mo oleng teng 🤣
I love the quality of this doccie, sibonge!
Would have loved to hear Gabba Cannal’s Amapiano journey.
Bantu Elements as well
I'm definitely sure you do know your story & Maphorisa aswell 'cause after him & Kabza Amapiano was never the same

Well done Paper. This story was beautifully told. Salute.
Stockie is the reason Amapiano grew in Soweto, he brought it to us before they added lyrics.
I had to watch this documentary 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Oupa from pretoria want to applaud AMAPIANO Group very much,FOR being so creative BIGGER than what was then before, let us be fair I think this group deserve their chance to shine
...And here We are Amapiano...2023. Every prophecy was fulfilled. The Genre is a Global Phenomena
Gaba Cannal comes a long way with this genre. It's unfair that he is not featured on this documentary
True. Literally the album Apaniano Vol 1.
One thing i loved about all being interviewed, they not giving much credits on themselves personally. Instead they giving it back to the hood and other djs/artists/vocalists etc. One love, kip up. love from Zimbabwe
I think the "oe batla kae" song by de mogul really put amapiano on the map.
True
As a hip hop dancer, I am so happy I discover Amapinao recently it has open my ears and lead to new sounds that I never knew that I needed.
As long as you are not a culture vulture...
So inspiring this is AFRICAN BLUES /JAZZ from our ANCESTORS
This Doccie is a Great body of work. I'm a hip hop head but I wont shy away to give Amapiano props. The sound is killin it in Mzansi & i hope it grows big like kwaito #SAMusic
Great documentary... wd have loved to see a brief history n evolution from pantsula to digong to kwaito to house to deep house until AMAPIANO
And At The End Of The Day Maphorisa Gave It That Huge Push. Whether You Like It Or Not
I agree bro🙌
Bro!!!
Facts
You crazy maphorisa jumped on the wave just like he did on the gqom wave
What about kabza?
This is a beautiful documentary. I loved it.
All the way from Angola just to say the songs are dope
Would have loved for Gaba Cannal to be on the doccie
We approached him (and alot of other pioneers) But he didnt respond or reply....But things must keep moving
That is how amapiano cats are. No order
Amapiano is a life a life lifestyle, lets help promote. Ama4Life!
Kabza deserves all his flowers and success. Dude has been pushing and his earlier work is top quality I would say better than his recently stuff.
Thanks for this brav... really appreciate it.. nicely done
So happy to see my favorite artists on this joint
I love this music!!!! Big up to South Africa
Very interesting documentary,i only just discovered MFR souls this year but from now on im going to give them all the respect they deserve
