This was definitely their best concert. A hometown show when Matt's voice was in it's prime with the full band lineup together. Still love their new stuff but this era is hard to beat.
I don't know man, I really think their performance with The Stage was pretty good (talking about the studio version, not their live performances) I particularly love Angels, has such a nice feeling to it, especially with Matt's background screams
Gabrilos i have some mixed feelings about The Stage. Frankly i think the band somewhat lost their sense of identity after the rev died. They used to sound like A7X, but now they’d rather sound like Metallica (on HTTK), or Dream Theater on The Stage.
Not saying those albums don’t sound like A7X, because they do. I just think a big part of A7X was rooted in the rev, both personality wise and what he brought to the table musically.
Loving your A7X reactions, a few days ago they dropped the official audio for "Set Me Free" and honestly i never have chills throughout the entirety of any song, but Set Me Free was absolutely insane, specially the guitar that enters 4 mins in.. a sense of melancholy and beauty throughout the track !
Funny thing about two of your points, at first Gates refused to use this song because the Rev brought him the riff and he thought it was way too simple, it wasn't until he heard it with The Rev's latin-influenced drumming on it that he was sold on it. And the other thing, this song is notorious for Matt forgetting the lyrics live, even up to this day lmao.
The LBC live performances are insanely amazing. You could do any of them and they would all be fantastic. If you're looking for Ballad I would recommend seize the day in the LBC or something a bit heavier, second heartbeat Unholy Confessions
I’ve watched the LBC concert like a million times, and this is the first time I noticed Synyster say “yes he is” after Matt said that last “I’m not insane” during the intro. Lmao
I went to one of their concerts while The Rev was still alive and it was absolutely perfect! It was in Georgia and I was still in high school and I lived/live in Alabama. My mom THOUGHT she was going to make me change my mind by saying "You can go, but you're still going to school in the morning." I accepted her challenge! Amazing show! The lineup was Burn Halo, Papa Roach, Buckcherry, and of course Avenged Sevenfold. Even though I had to deal with a much older gentleman who kept asking me which band played "That song about that crazy b*tch?!?" I had the best time! Held hands and made eye contact with Jacoby Shaddix for a few seconds! (Sorry, had to throw that in there!) Rocked out and went home. It was about 3 almost 4 am when i got home, but I DID go to school, went back home, did my homework, ate a bit, and finally passed out! If you can't tell already, that was one night I will never forget!
Hey mate, great, insightful video as always. Just wanted to point out one thing about a comment you made. The capacity of the LBC is somewhere in the vicinity of to 10-12,000 people, not 50-70,000. Its an indoor entertainment centre. Also if you really want to see Syn bust out some sweeping, listen to The Wicked End, its from the same album as Bat Country and Beast and the Harlot.
R.I.P the rev the way he says slowly ripped away just breaks my heart fun fact his last ever words on stage was this song "as you slowly slipped away" (not this concert) 💔💔
Please check out their making of of their self-titled album. It's here on RUclips and it's still one of my favorite videos ever. It has so much footage of them writing and recording their songs (like Critical Acclaim, Afterlife, Almost Easy, A Little Piece of Heaven etc.) and I'm sure you'd love watching it. It really makes you appreciate their musicianship even more. (It's about an hour long though, so it might be better for a stream or something)
I think he had signature PU as well as signature guitar, are basically Seymour Duncan sustaniac and yes, they have a ton of sustain. I don't know if there he was already using those but I think so, sustaniac has a weird shape, the neck one in particular
@@Stygmahtuh It's not a new album and not a new song. The album is an extended version of Diamonds in the Rough which was released maybe 10 years ago now - it's a collection of B-Sides that they didn't include on their other albums alongside some cover songs and some live versions of songs from their Self Titled album. The new song 'Set Me Free' was one they recorded for Hail to the King but didn't include. If you've not already heard the Diamonds in the Rough songs then I suppose it's 'new' for you, and some of the songs on there are alright... But - as with Set Me Free - there's a reason they weren't deemed good enough to actually go on their other albums.
You're explanation of sweeps is pretty spot on, once you learn how to move your strumming hand and the hand on the fret board simultaneous the sweeps become simple, but getting to where you can move up and down simultaneously is what feels like is impossible. The great thing for these guys is every tech dude, even their album artist is someone that they grew up with or knew some way or another. The commradory throughout the etire crew and band is kind of unheard of. They're definitely a well oiled machine, I've seemingly grown up to these dudes, been my favorite band since the early 2000's, its been fun seeing them turn in to the masters they are now. Good review, this song is probably my least favorite on the white album, still solid nonetheless.
Hey buddy! I’ve been a huge fan of your reactions a pretty long time now (on my personal account) SO REAL, I watched your Orginal Marshall Mathers LP full album review , all the way through and that was it I was hooked. You’re the man keep up the hustle I was hoping you could check my music , I think you’d like what I have so far (not even to react to, just to check it out) right now I have only a few cuz I’m getting use to RUclips lol so if you could 🙏 I would FREAK lol either way again I seriously love your reactions and will still follow and like even if you don’t see this 🤘🤘🤘
As low of a rating Roman Sky got on your poll, you should definitely do Roman Sky Grammy performance. It’s absolutely beautiful and one of their best live performances IMO
As a hardcore A7x fan, I can't believe Critical Acclaim lost to Almost Easy, but I suppose it makes sense in a general sense being that it's one of their hit singles. Critical Acclaim is a much better song in terms of writing, IMO, but I love all of it.
let the solo play man, its a reaction video, not a guitar tutorial. I dont think you should try to break down the videos from a songwriters perspective... keep the "biker" persona as your gimmick
his tech, the mixer, didnt have it down to a science. it sounded way different at the show. it was all edited post show for the DVD release. they re recorded most of it in studio.
This was definitely their best concert. A hometown show when Matt's voice was in it's prime with the full band lineup together. Still love their new stuff but this era is hard to beat.
And they surely gave their best, since they were recording for a live DVD
Nothing’s ever gonna top their time with the rev. It was just the perfect group of people and a special place in time for Avenged in the 2000’s.
I don't know man, I really think their performance with The Stage was pretty good (talking about the studio version, not their live performances)

Avenged Sevenfold - Critical Acclaim [Live In The LBC] You will not be disappointed, the REV also sings a lot in this one.
yes I really wanna see that one
Listen to the studio version first! It has all the parts!
@@GJBedrin I would agree with that one. The main meaning of the song is omitted from the live version.
@@Aknight292 yeah I always agree with that but damn the live version is so good
@@givenspade oh yeah. Gotta see the live version after. Such a crowd hyping song live.
Avenged Sevenfold’s band members are all best friends since they were kids, that’s why they have good synergy between them.
Your A7x are my favorite reactions
You should do avenged sevenfold coming home and your knowledge of music is phenomenal
Coming Home solo is mindblowing! Goosebumps everytime
Coming home is one of their best songs!!
I wish they played Coming Home more often. It’s such a banger.
Great review brotha! Love your content and keep up the good work!

Please react Avenged sevenfold - God hates us 2011 live
Dirty, Scream live at LBC is excellent too! Plus there's dancing girls
The LBC live performances are insanely amazing. You could do any of them and they would all be fantastic. If you're looking for Ballad I would recommend seize the day in the LBC or something a bit heavier, second heartbeat Unholy Confessions
I actually like it more without the green screen just giving some input nice reaction aswell!
I’ve watched the LBC concert like a million times, and this is the first time I noticed Synyster say “yes he is” after Matt said that last “I’m not insane” during the intro. Lmao
I’ve been rocking this song since i was 13. Never gets old, a classic in other words.
Save Me by Avenged Sevenfold
Metal biker , thank you for doing an A7X reaction

Great reaction.
To note on the pickup thing, he is actually playing invaders pickups. Actives. Very hot pickups

The Sound when he explains a sweep is so legendary
Brother you gotta check out Scream at the LBC. Even if you don't do a video for it. You'll appreciate how badass of a stage show it is!

YAYY
Love when you react to a7x!!
Sidewinder a7x has probably the best acoustic solo in all of a7x catalog
Angels by Avenged Sevenfold (The Stage) , that song is great
The one thing that kills me a little evry time the revs last words on stage are as you slowly slipped away from this song 💔 R.I.P Jimmy
Scream live LBC
I doubt he will see this but he should do some pinkly smooth before a7x was big the rev and synyster had a band and it’s amazing definitely do mezmer
You’d love “A little piece of Heaven” by avenged
