Hello Friends! In this extreme organization video I am cleaning decluttering and packing my master closet because WE ARE MOVING and DOWNSIZING. I am moving to a much smaller home, therefore, it's important that I declutter before moving because we just don't have the space in the new home. Our new home is 1200 sq ft. while our current home is 2800 sq ft. I also will not have a walk in closet in my new space so I really have to downsize on clothing, shoes and handbags. I ended up giving A TON away to Goodwill.
I am really manifesting becoming a minimal mom through this entire moving process! Definitely stayed tuned so that you know exactly how I declutter and organize in preparation for our big move.

Hello my name is Erika. I am a stay at home mom of two, Mikey (13) and Iliana (9). I am married to my high school sweetie, Mike, and we live out in sunny Arizona. We have lived in Arizona for almost 9 years now. We have two hyper and wild dogs, Nikki and Brie, and they are frequently parading around in my videos. I have learned to love to clean, declutter and organize my home in recent years. Awwwee there's no reason to be embarrassed! Trust me I found minimalism about a year ago and I have gotten rid of 80% of everything I owned and I was borderline hoarder just from never going through stuff and getting rid of it. But it feels soooo good to have everything minimal and decluttered! Love your video, you done an amazing job!!!

Amaaaaazing video. I cried when I saw you putting all those clothes in bags because i know how many people you will bless by passing on these clothes to others who will enjoy them. My mother was a hoarder and my sister and I had to clean out her home after she died 6 years ago. You will never know how hard it was on us to have to do that. It was so overwhelming. I think we ended up with 25 full trash bags full of clothes. Thank you for not putting your family through that. You are a beautiful woman and now its a new day.

Me too. I have 950 sq ft. We downsized from 1050. I sold and gave away a lot of my clothing/shoesand I am still selling. I will give away or sell plates and bowls/cups too before our move this fall. I don't have a walk in closet now and our house has 2 and a half closets total. I keep some under the bed
Loved the video! as someone who is also super sentimental and attached to my belongings and clothing specifically it would have been interesting to hear more of your internal thoughts about how you decided to part with certain things, like how you came to those decisions for tough items!
I like to think of myself as an intentionalist instead of a minimalist! I'll never be that person who has like 3 t-shirts, 3 pants, etc but I can choose to be more intentional about what I buy, why I'm buying it and the effect new items have on coming into my home
Hello 👋 I honestly tried to detach myself from my clothing as I was looking through it. I’ll try to talk about this in an upcoming video. I’m actually editing a part 2 of my closet declutter now. I can’t agree more with intentional living, I’ve mentioned that subject in several videos. I feel like everything I buy lately is extremely intentional and it keeps me from impulse buying which obviously I had an issue with in the past! I love that you shared your thoughts with me, thank you! Makes me feel like I’m not alone!

Great job.... It will feel so good once you're unpacking the thing you love and use instead of items that mean little to nothing. I just moved as well and did the exact same thing. I must say that cleaning and deep cleaning has become much easier and actually fun because all the things I either love or need without any extra 'noise'. Keep up the great work and your journey!

Even though we declutter monthly I found myself skipping the last couple of months & it’s definitely noticeable , to me. Feeling overwhelmed with the thought of it but getting some donation runs done soon! This was a needed motivation ♥️

It's so crazy, this was years of accumulation for sure. So glad it's gone. Never again, cleaning my closet seasonally just like I do my kids! Same rotation for mama. haha
I decluttered after I moved too. I think changing out clothes and shoes for the seasons is a good idea. We moved from a house of similar size to what you moved out of and into a 1000 square foot house with no storage, no closet for vacuum or broom etc and we didn't realize how small it was or that it had no outdoor storage either... fun times (heavy sarcasm).

@@SheWolfMom I've been trying to find space saving items to make things easier or trying to be more creative with how I use different things. In all honesty we hate living in such a small house, I think part of it is that the layout isn't good and they added this large bench (at back door/ laundry room) that cut a good space for the vaccum, broom, shampooer, our daily shoes, etc into just a small space for shoes and piling crap on top of the bench. I don't understand why they did that, makes no sense!

@@karenlockhart790 It definitely gets the creative juices flowing right? We’re having to navigate through that also. Getting an outdoor storage too. I’m not crazy about it but my husband is excited. Is this a long term move for you?
@@SheWolfMom we plan on staying in this state but with the insane rent at this house not here, we planned on another year but we think they are about to either sell with no warning to us or raise the rent last min giving us no choice but to pay it, we're stressed!

You got this! It's hard but so so worth it. Keep going and definitely keep decluttering with me, it helps to do this with a friend. I usually put a video on my phone and let it play while I'm cleaning. It's a habit now and one I cannot do without! =)

I had already declutter 3 years ago.
For the past 9 months started packing up for moving. I started with what I really wanted and some new items. Put them in storage. Waiting for house to be built.
They kept delaying the move in date.
Knowing still had to put our home for sale. Yo just want to get it over with. Start throwing things, giving away. At the same time you don’t want them to take it. If they don’t need it.
Some things hard to decide figured once settled I will go through it again. Overwhelming.
Now my storage sheds are full.
And all the good stuff is in the back. :)

Hey Roxy! Wardrobe boxes are the best, def get yourself some. The elephant story is funny. I didn’t even know I still had that shirt! I loved shoes! I still do but I’m always home and barefoot and I like to wear my birks….. lol so I don’t feel the urge to buy anything else these days!

WOW! You had so many clothes! I got velvet hangers recently. I got pink ones with rose gold hardware. I'm in love with my closet now! I organized it according to season. I got rid of all my work wardrobe because I just recently retired. It's hard to part with it, but some other lucky lady will find good use of it. I kept a few items for weddings. You just don't have room for it if you don't have a walk in closet!? You won't miss it or regret it, trust me!

We live in a 2BR apartment. I declutter all the time. My husband gets rid of stuff. Our daughter, age 45, has even been tossing things finally. There is so much

Hello! That is a big move but you are on the right track. Decluttering is the best thing you can do. I've moved a few times before and each time I took all of my junk with me.... never again! I saw the benefits of my hard work when everything was moved and my entire home fit into a little over half of the garage in our new home. That was a huge huge victory for us! What method are you using to move your belongings? Uhaul, Pods?

As I have gotten older ,I realize that I do not need all the stuff and even more ,I do not want to house it or clean it anyway. I have let go of do very much and still working on it. You did a great job. I think you may be able to pair down more once ypu are actually moved and can see your space.

Thanks for sharing and telling us about your revelations while packing. So funny you can pack up your whole closet and still have things to wear until you move. I think the new culture for attire is very casual for almost all occasions. I am sure you will make more editing to your clothing when you get to your new destination. Just remember things stored in attics breakdown.

@@SheWolfMom definitely see you unpack. Fascinating to see you downsize to half. Times have changed though and we are seeing times change in our own generation because technology is so fast and we are living so long. Give yourself a break. We no longer need books, cd, etc. So light and freeing to have space to display and honor the memories in a meaningful way instead of in a box for our kids to throw away when we pass on.

Friend ! I watched this was one of your biggest I am so proud of you! You’ve been so consistent with this. All of this decluttering has inspired me I attacked my sons room the other day and got rid of one whole bag which was really great for his room this is the third bag I’ve gotten rid of this year. Girl...I've worked at Goodwill. I promise they do not care as long as the clothing isn't nasty and you're nice about it. We regularly get full house clean outs from people who are moving or post- yard sale and estate sale.

We are moving too...but we are only moving across the state. moving from one apartment to the other. same square footage....onnly difference it has a larger balcony and different lv/dr. layout which will be better. But I too am going from Electric to Gas in the kitchen....so your video's are helping me too to stay focused

Sometimes it takes a while for you to be ready to let go if things. You did really good. You left your sentimental items until the end so you had time to strengthen your decluttering muscles!!

So impressive! I had to separate by type and pare down and totally overthinking the whole time. So yeah it took years to be minimal (lol Covid weight got me finished paring down). You did great. This is tough.

I stayed to the end so proud of you getting away so much, your husband was funny when he saw all you had gotten rid of. You could leave the hangers the people getting your beautfull home might need them. Omg amiga when I DECLUTTER my closet I was surprised how much we can save without us even noticing it 🙃. I took my clothes to my aunt at Mexico so she kind of got a use of it by making a yard sale ☺️. So all in all I was happy. 🥰.

Oh man when you are done you will probably be overwhelmed with all the stuff you have left, but go through each box as you unpack and yoh will be able to get rid of so much more I'm sure! Then it will feel so good to have less. I'm always trying to fill that void with stuff and it just makes everything worse

@@SheWolfMom yes and you have done so well! If you don't move often it's easy to build up all the stuff as well. We're military so we've moved every 3-4 years and every time we do I'm like oh man this is so much 😩 we just moved and haven't gotten our household items and I'm already decluttering items we brought with us because it's a smaller house and I'm realize it's gonna be rough at first haha. You got this! I have enjoyed your series of downsizing so much, it's so motivating

It’s a huge difference. I gave my husbands aunt the grand tour of the Texas house the other day and I was like “woah that was fast” lmbo! It felt a little weird 😂😂

Just wanna say that you don’t need to feel like you’re “making excuses” it’s okay to not be a minimalist!!! There are very creative ways to store things in small closets while also being functional. Don’t get rid of things just because you’ll feel like it’ll make good content ;) keep what you want to keep and don’t feel like you need to answer to anyone because you wanna keep your belongings 🤷🏼♀️ you did a great job though!! Also if people make faces at you while donating just make the same face at them until it gets uncomfortable 😂 hahaha
Hello 👋 I definitely kept what I thought I might wear when it comes to shoes, clothes and purses. That’s why I’ve been thinking of ways to store my clothing and I feel like doing it seasonally would allow me to keep more of it w out feeling like I have to get rid of everything. My space is a lot smaller at the new place. One thing you can appreciate about me is that I am not the type that makes videos for good content which is why my channel has been slow to grow. I truly do my best to keep things authentic around here 😄 I’m so glad my husband was the one getting down to donate everything, he really made me laugh! The way I see it, it’s job security when people keep donating to local goodwills 👍🏼 Arizona goodwills are amazing! People around here donate the best items. Goodwill definitely got me into some trouble! 🤣
When you say you are moving into a “space”, is that a tiny house or duplex?
I moved into a smaller home, 1200 sq feet.
Since you were getting rid of the plastic hangers, it might have been easier to just have gotten a box from the grocery store to throw the hangers in and then send that to Goodwill.

P.s. I am sorry that sounded harsh. It's just frustrating to see mom's putting themselves ahead if thier kids to make themselves feel good. I truly believe if you spend 1 year not buying yourself anything and starting a college fund would make you feel better about yourself than buying 20 more lipglosses. Hope you will take this to heart.
My kids have a wonderful life and their college is already paid for, they also have stock investments. This closet is my entire life in a closet and I’m 41 years old.
I'll be going through all that soon. I'm already tired thinking about it. Lol

If you still have clothing or shoes to declutter send them to thredup. They will sell some and donate the rest for you. I only own like 6 purses and clutches total.
