He is right, the government should have gone about it differently. Alot of capital is lost in this and Gambia government and banks have never provided capital for people to start businesses. Physical Planning has failed country for years . Now its equally true most people have errect illegal structures, but that has been norm since our founding!
It's true the government will lose a lot of revenue , but most of the revenue and taxes collected end up being stolen or embezzled by government officials . It's those government thieves that end up loosing, we the masses, have been loosing since independence

@@littleandtallawah2951you are not getting his point.....we are now getting educated or been made aware that these structures that we have grown to see everywhere in our country from our time and parents' time are considered illegal. So just getting up one day out of the blue destroying things without ample notification and plan B in place is a bit unfair. But yes you it is true it needs to be corrected and it looks better without having shabby structures everywhere.

I feel bad for business owners whose livelihoods have been destroyed. But should we allow people to build businesses anywhere and anyhow without a permit from physical planning? That's my dilemma. There has been no monitoring for 50 years.
