I was on the Magic in port with you that day. Did a Carnival tour of St. Kitts and saw most of what you did. Our tour left at 10 am. Must have been right behind you at some of those same stops. It was a beautiful tour.
Ah the Marella Explorer 2. Sailed on her when she was the Celebrity Century back in 1998. That was my very first cruise. Good to see she is still out there sailing.
We did an tour of St Kitts a few years ago, the best Excursion ever, spent some money in the Batik store, and loved the fortress. Great video

Did you guys know that the mongoose is not native to St. Kitts (nor anywhere in the Western Hemisphere)? They were brought in to deal with snakes.

Why did you switch from lock box to yellow floaty when you go in the water? Did someone try to break into the lockbox?
No, for this 81-day trip, it was a matter of making our baggage as light as possible, and the lockbox tends to be on the heavier side!! :D
What's the etiquette on tipping on guided tours? Is there a recommended amount per person or family?

I believe the order from oldest to newest was Edge, Apex, Beyond, and soon to be Ascent.

Are you ever concerned about crime rates in the areas you visit? St. Kitts and Nevis are relatively safe but what about Haiti ? Lots of drug gang activity there? Do you check before going on excursions?
We always research the ports as well as any independent vendors that we might use, yes. For Haiti specifically, the only area most folks visit these days seems to be the private area of Labadee on Royal Caribbean, which is a secure port zone.
