- Virginia and Tennessee played in the opening round of the 2021 College World Series. This part of the CWS is double elimination. The winner would advance to play the winner of Mississippi State-Texas on Tuesday, while the loser would play the loser of that game in an elimination game.

I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

Tennessee finally looked like how a Tennessee team usually does, drastically overwhelmed and unprepared
Vols picked a horrible time to stink it up on the diamond. They looked horrible in the batters box all game. Chasing cutters,sliders and breaking balls swinging off balance. This team cannot hit those types of pitches.
I think that being on that big stage in Omaha got to the Tennessee players. They just didn't look loose, whereas the Virginia players were having fun and making plays.

Pundits have to have things to talk about since they don't dare have empty air time. That's an oft observed but stupid broadcast rule. On the helmets though, it made Virginia's players look like kids in a little league game. That's embarrassing. Are their pretty boys more interested in showing off their hair (like Teal) or keeping their skulls intact?
Will there ever be a sport in Tennessee that we are good??? Not great or excellent, just good!!! Football sucks and will never recover, I thought our basketball team would be awesome and that definitely didn’t happen!!
