NAUS The video of you starting up your old Rc cars made me wanna start up my dad’s Rc cars his cars were sitting since 2002 and just getting older and older so thanks for making that video it got me in to a hobby that I love
I have the oiled version of this. When I was at the dyno getting a tune, we threw on a stock elbow and filter and lost 2-3whp on the top end compared to the AFE and he did some tuning between the 2 intakes. Tuner said the flow of this intake is smoother compared to stock. With all my supporting bolt ons,+tune my car makes 230whp now vs about 206whp with a stock tune and hfc/60mm exhaust.
Good to know thank you! I don’t have dyno numbers but in theory this intake has the most filter surface area so it’s gotta outflow Stock/other brands !
2 things, for the zip ties in the back, did you end up using either or both? I find hose that runs along the back only reaches the first zip tie for the kink on the silicon hose, did you ever fix that? or end up using as is? mine kinks pretty horrendously
i did that mod about 4 years ago before the video was even out, I just didn't have the K&N filter. I even made a 3D printed piece to cover the hole for the resonator, the sound didn't sound any different to me, This sounds much better and flows more
@@NAUS2K Thanks for your reply! I notice you had the stock airbox with the airbox mox previously - would you say this outperforms it? From what I can see, both OEM airbox and the AFE "source" their air from the same location (the plastic slits in the air guide infront of the rad?) - so any benefit in lower iAT is as a result of better airbox insulation rather than actually getting colder air from a different location?
@@NickEnglishPhotography1 The AFE intake will draw the same air temps as the OEM airbox as its in the same location as you mentioned. I would think it does outperform the oem box only because the filter itself has more than double the surface area so i would imagine flow is improved. My OEM airbox was not completely modded either, the only thing i did to it was add a 3D printed piece to block off the resonance chamber
Took this intake off. Suffers from heat soak. The box/opening sits over the radiator as well .my car was bogging in the hot weather. Put the stock on back on and no more bogging.
Hey, any update on this intake and any butt dyno gains? I was thinking of picking one up but wasn't sure if you saw any heat soak issues with it as well. It also was recommended by LHT Performance and they work on mostly s2000s and have a youtube channel too
@@tomu4725 it’s my car LHT worked on and put the intake on for me. It definitely makes power….but draw back is it heat soaks. Once you are going it’s fine. But if you are sitting at a light and want to get up and go it will be big, John said it may be running to lean when it hot. Maybe a tune would help it. But I’m selling it and getting the comptech intake to try that out.
Similar to the picture to see off without the orange hose - directly through the hood. my350z.com/forum/intake-exhaust/617550-diy-individual-throttle-bodies-2.html#&gid=1&pid=17

Great review!
I would get it dynotuned but that is me. Awesome video!
“Tons of room for activities” is that a Step Brothers reference?

You should check out the LHT stock airbox mod. OEM ftw.
Steven Narvali but doesn’t have angry sound !!

Tried the LHT hack plus a alumin tube to engine...10+ and a nice roar...gonna add the spoon style ram scoop here soon but so far...wow
Do you still have this? And do you rate it?
Yes I still am running it it’s been great!

Interesting, it literally draws air from the same location as stock 🤔

I consider if I ventilate my itb's directly through the bonnet, what do you think of it?
